Has any of you myLotters ever tried a twinkie? i haven't they don't sell them here, can anyone tell me how they taste like and if its true what i heard, that you can keep a Twinkie for like ten years and they don't go bad, are they really still eatable? Are they any good?

I wouldn't eat a Twinkie that had been around ten years. I think they have an expiration date, and I believe they get bad long before ten years have gone by. And I would think they would be awfully dry, even encased in plastic. I haven't had a Twinkie in decades! I never really liked them. The cream filling was good, but I didn't care for the "cake" part. I liked the Hostess cupcakes better. It's hard to imagine a place without Twinkies.

they sell them in pastery sections of the grocery store. You usually find them in the Northeastern United states. They are under another name here. We have brands called little debbie, paddy cakes and other pastery names.

Hi, zemma1992. I love them. But I hardly eat them because they are very sweet to eat. I am unsure if they are still fresh after waiting ten years to eat them. It is best that you check out the expiration date on the twinkles to see how good that they still are to eat them.

Its hard to describe them lol. Hey if you pay for the shipping and the $2-3 I will send you a box of Twinkies! Seriously. I think at the store they are $2-3. The brand name Twinkies not the generic ones. Then you can share with your family and friends or you can hoard them to yourself lol. If you want to just send me a message. I think it would be cool to have someone send me their favourite snacks from their country that we do not have over here. Even here in the U.S. certain states do not have certain types of chip flavours. Like here in the southwest we have lots of salsa flavoured and spicy flavoured things that people in the East probably do not have because we have a lot of people who come from cultures that enjoy those spicy flavours. Anyway, Twinkies are good and they last a long time (which is sort of creepy), so let me know if you'd want me to send you a box.

Twinkies . . . I grew up with them!! They taste just like what you think it tastes like . . . I haven't had any in years and I could still remember the taste. And I know I can probably eat a whole box of them in one sitting - hee hee. They are rather sugary though - and I'm sure loaded with preservatives - not the healthiest of snacks period. I could have sworn I had stale ones before . . . and I'm sure they'll go bad at some point (just not as fast as freshly baked goods because of all the preservatives and who knows what!).

I have probably had a twinkie when I was younger.
They're just a spongey yellow cake filled with cream, delicious, but you can find other things that taste similar.
Yes, they don't go bad ever. That shows how unhealthy they are :P
