I still do play some beatles song every now and then. And whenever I hear it somewhere else, it puts me in a good mood. Their songs (Not all but many) just wouldn't fade away...

I've never really considered the Beatles to be the best band ever but I would say that they've influenced a lot of bands and helped to pave the way for bands in the future. I've never really listened to the Beatles because I'm just not really all that in too their music.
Overall I would have to say that rock music has evolved incredibly and that there are definitely bands out there that are better then the Beatles technically. But still their needed to be bands like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rush, or any other like band that inspired some of the bands that I now listen to today.

Best Band? Probably not. However, I was a teenager when the Beatles exploded into the British music scene. A great deal of the music before that was either dull ballady stuff, or maybe some rock 'n' roll from the States. Noe question, the Beatles DID change music forever. I was not a fan during the 60's. preferring The Stones, Chuck, Jerry Lee etc., but as I've grown up, I have appreciated their music more and more, especially Sargent Pepper. Yes, they were a fad that lasted only 10 years, but their music evolved and grew in that time. Messages? Try 'She's Leaving Home', 'When I'm 64', 'Eleanor Rigby' or 'Yesterday'. NOW at 61 I'm a Beatles fan, and I preach to my children.

It is one of the big bands that are going to last many years mas, the times change, but they are still in force because they have come out worldwide, and it is like a that they marked an epoch. We can name the Rolling Stone, Gunses Rouses, etc.
As for my I have not followed the Beatles, each one has his tastes and for mas that admits that they are very important worldwide my I do not like.

I am not really a fan of Beatles but I found their songs very mellow and light. I am not surprised why their songs do not easily fade away because it has good lyrics, melody and tune that are already passed on to the new generations through revivals. I was not yet born when Beatles is on their peak of stardom. I just knew their songs when I heard them being sang by my dad and mom as well as my aunts on ktv. :P

never thought that they were the best band ever. I wouldnt give any band that title. Making music isnt and shouldnt be seen as some kind of competiton. It people making art...It all has some degree of value. I still listen to them of course. Their impact is undeniable..As was their collective talent. I find their later stuff to be the most interesting and fun to listen to...Like, post rubber soul..Thats where the good stuff is!
