I just barely could stand it under such heat without A/C. Afternoon, when I having my lunch time. I just want to get out and sitting in my car to make a few calls. While I was sitting in my car, I didn't turn on the A/C, after a few minutes while I was placing my calls, I already sweat all over. I couldn't barely breathe too. Gosh, I have to go back to the building. Under such condition, maybe I am not used to such heat during the summer, I just couldn't imagine people without A/C in other part of the world if they encounter such heat.

Ironically, most of the heat is a result of our irresponsible actions. I am so gonna beat up that guy who turns on the air-conditioner at 16 degrees in winter!

Oh...my
Gosh! I am living in a humid country whereby in the afternoon 1pm -4pm is the hottest of the day.
I usually stay at home and switch on the fan. I am living in a double storey house so inside is quite comfy and warm.
If I was working outside like last time, I would stay in the office relaxing with the A/C.
I hate hot weather but what to do? Just remember that we have cold water to quench our thirst in the hot day.

It is super hot here, and I couldn't stand it anymore. Now, I am getting sick, a high fever, all because of this heat.

Hi, kingparker. I could not live without having an AC or any kind of cool air on me either. I love to be in the cool air. It feels good when I can relax when it is muddy hot outside of the door. I have lived without having air on me many of times and believe me, it is no fun at all. I felt so miserable without any air on. Last year, my in-laws air conditioner went out and it was so hot in their trailer. My father-in-law would not buy an air conditioner for his house at all. It was terrible. Sometimes, I would leave to go somewhere just so that I could, get some cool air.

I can live without A/C, although I would sweat like hell, and would require atleast two electric fans on full blast just pointed at me.. Hehehehe. We are lucky, because we live on a condo on the 11th floor, and the cool air enters our unit without even much effort, so last summer it was not so bad, unlike in other places...

How true! Whether inside the card or a room, it's really hard to stay very long without the help of air-conditioning. Global warming is really becoming a silent threat to us. I just hope that scientists will soon find an Earth-friendly way to solve this problem.

Living in a place where it is hot and sunny for most part of the year is very difficult without an air cooler or an A/C. My place is hot for almost ten months in a year. But there are ways to keep yourself cool.
Having plenty of fluids helps to keep the body cool. Have fresh friut juices or fruits. Nothing beats a tender coconut or home made buttermilk which is easy to prepare. If nothing is available, plain water would do the trick. Having plenty of it maintains the body temperature.
Wearing light and loose cotton clothing helps absorb the sweat. People still survive without even fans and electricity. In a place where the normal temperature would be anywhere between 33 degree C to 40 degree C, surviving without fans is a challenge and as well as a way of life here.

i am spoiled when it comes to the air conditioner. I have one in the car, at work and two at home. I can't stand to be hot and sweaty! I often wonder what I would do if there was no such thing as a air conditioner. Also why is it called that anyways? It doesnt condition the air.

Yes, I usually don't use AC, But that doesn't mean I can't use air conditioning. I only didn't have it. I live in tropical climates which only have two seasons: the rainy and hot days. Maybe for use that used to living in hot tropical climate without AC is a normal thing because we are already accustomed to hot weather :)

I can stand the heat without air-conditioning, though the air-conditioning is very nice right after working in the hot day. I think as long as you have a nice breeze and plenty of water you can withstand the heat. But yet again I still love the air-conditioning.

It gets really hot some days. We had nearly 20 days with out rain at the beginning of summer. It was in the 90's for the most part. It's rough. We've been to the pool a couple of times but with this it takes money to spend there all day. we're trying to go tomorrow when they aren't calling for rain.

I never realized how much i depended on my AC until my air conditioner broke down. Of course it has to be one of those 90 degree and more days when it happened! A fan just wasn't enough to keep me cool! You can believe another air conditioner was soon in my house! AH! Cool air again!

It depends on where you are located. The place where I live, here you don't AC, in a room a ceiling fan works fine. In areas like Pakistani Punjab, Sindh, and Indian Punjab, and south parts of India and Pakistan, you cannot just live without AC. Same goes for the northern and southern USA and other countries.
Every year hundreds of people die because of this extreme weather, the summers. Humans' contribution to heat-up the ecosystem is now showing its real colors. 100 years ago, the world wasn't that much hotter. We destroying the world we are part of. It is surely leading to destruction for sure.
We still have the time, to control on gases emission, and other things which are destroying the ecosystem.

I can live without ac, as long as there is an electric fan, at least at night as i could not sleep with soaking sweat all over..
As a live in a temperate country all my life I am use to hot conditions, but I feel comfortable under controlled air conditioned rooms better, but definitely i can live without it..

I grew up with out a/c...after awhile my mom got one window air conditioner and it went in her room. us kids were allowed to sleep on the floor in her room to stay cool. I also remember having a car without a/c - it was like a sauna in the hot summer and an icebox in the winter.

It's a vicious cycle: the hotter the weather, the more air-conditioning, the more heat released, the more you rely on air-conditioning... It gets worse and worse, until the whole world explodes in a ball of fire. (Oops, wrong emoticon...)
I try to avoid using air-conditioners, but with the intense heat, I sometimes succumb to the temptations of pushing the button...

i too strongly agee that without a/c it is very difficult to survive in this such heat. but , a/c is not an affordable one to all . in india , very recently a/cand slpit a/c model is gettingt very famous since the rates are slightly slashed by the manufacture. still the electricy charges are unbearable to a common man . taking in to consideration of our needs and electricity charges and the frequent power cuts, many of indians are facing quite a huge amount of problem . even they have a/c in houses, they are unable to enjoy the effect due to the reasons mentioned above . in my opinion , with out a/c no one can tolerate the heat

OMG! theres is no way possible to survive the summer heat without A/C cuz well face it, you will be dying slowly from heat attacks although some might go through it like i did once which sucked cuz it felt like my eyes where melting and it was hard to breath in such heat but yea depends if you can handle the heat and how hot.
