I am an organized person. but i can also be the most disorganized as well. i just plan things ahead of me but still my being impulsive can lead me to forget the things i should be doing on that particular day or task to accomplish based on what i have written on my organizer. sometimes what i am doing, i post some post it sticker notes on the edge of the screen of my laptop and the things that should be done within the day is posted on the right side. and it also has color coding. personal stuff would be yellow and pink for the job related. hehehe. then once i have done it, i just throw each one in the bin. sometimes during breaks, i find my computer very messy because lots of post it stickers are there waiting things to be done. bottom line is that you should just do the things that need to be done first and not tell yourself that you will do it later. I do know how to prioritize. That is what we should all do not to forget things that should be done.

Okay I had a whole response to post but have to say that your response through me off track, At first I though you were being silly... Then I wondered, this is possible. Sometimes people get so overwhelmed that they lose perspective on important things. There are actually clinics and treatments for this, also I would suggest vitamin b so that it enhances our brain cells and memory loss. As we get older we tend to lose some of our brain cells and this vitamin b helps to enhance. There is such a thing as being a heavy procrastinator and well if and only if it interferes with very important tasks in life then I would suggest getting some help, there are some exercises that assist in delineating how to balance what is important and what is not. The good thing I suppose is that you do recognize that you do procrastinate so that is good. The start to better any problem is recognizing. You listed that plan heavily, knowing that you end up doing nothing may I suggest that you do not plan so heavily as it is quite overwhelming you. Start by planning one thing at a time and do not plan anymore until you have completed the one thing. Then gradually increase your tasks as you feel comfortable. Hope this helps and hope you are not too hard on yourself when you cannot complete your tasks.

i dont use post it coz i find t messy specially if i have lots of notes to post unless its just one. normally i just use my mobile and let it alarm for that time so i will know what i need to do for that time. when it comes to paying bills we normally put it in refrigerator together with magnets.

I totally agree with you with the post it notes. but then at the end of the day, you will be able to notice the things that you have done and the things left for you to do. You would never leave your workplace dirty so we tend to do all the things that we need to do. If i do it on my mobile phone, it gets annoying if it keeps on alarming and vibrating plus if you are doing something else that is also important like talking to your client or superior or something, you will just have to mark it done so it will stop notifying you and be a distraction on what you are doing.

there were many times that i keep forgetting to do some important things only when i need it already only then i remember i need to do something. but now i got my lesson, i know how to prioritize things and i have learn not to forget things as i try to remember things more and i don't want to keep forgetting things as it is a hassle if we keep forgetting something that is important and that need for us to remember doing and only get disappointed later for now doing it right away before totally forgetting to those things.

Yeah, what I do is I really maximize the use of post its. Hehehe. I have them all over my desk, I can't put it on my screen because our company forbids it Anyway, when what I have to remember is like a personal thing then I usually use my phone's calendar in order to remember or the calendar in my netbook so I won't forget, cause I really tend to easily forget things, and I need someone to remind me that I have to do this and that just to remember. LOL.

That's a good way to get organize and to get things done. As for me, I allot a day or two for a specific job area and do all things on that scheduled day/s. I usually start my records on morning then make updates of my personal expenses and job disbursements. I also make a personal record of the projects for the succeeding jobs like ms project. It really helps not to forget or miss a schedule.

Hi aaron, You were really organize and that's really a good way, and it seems very nice. Maybe I'll try it one of this day of my way to remember things doesn't work anymore. Anyway, for me, I use my cellphone to for me to remind what are the things I needed to do. All of us may have different ways to remind what are the things we need to do, but the most important thing is that as long as we are more at ease in our usual ways it is okay and as long as we finished a lot of task that we need to do in a specific time and date.

Before I used to leave notes on the wallcalender ,keep the page where the notice was printed on Nd even remembered in my head . The trouble was that if something came up that effected me emotionally or if I got very tired or exhausted I forgot . But since I got my iPhone I write them down and I do not have to worry I can still remember but this adds a little extra security.

I can be forgetful at times too. This has been a big problem for me. So I always had to bring my trusty small organizer with me and a pen. When I need to do something or have an appointment, I immediately write it down. I write everything down. This has been extremely helpful to me.

Hi, I prepare to get myself organize.at least I can get my things done on time and not wasting my time. Time is money.Every second and minute is very important. Normally, I will think of what I am going to do for the next day. If I have something urgent to be settle, then I may do a reminder on my mobile phone,Set an alarm on it as I carry my mobile phone with me all the time.It will be my organizer. Sometimes I do write a small notepad and stick on my table,so that I can remember well on the things I am going to do and buy later. Our brain is working nonstop(unless we are sleeping) and there are so many things twisting in our brain.sometimes, I might remember to buy this thing now,but at a glance, I might forget about it.So i prefer to note it down,so that , in case I forget, I can always refer back to my notepad. Have a nice day!!

Hi aaronfyzeon, I too, am organized. However, the days can get busy and things can go undone if you don't have a system. I find that when I use the postits, they usually find they way to the floor. So, I put up a large white board in my washroom, which leads into the garage, so I can't miss it as I leave to run my errands. When things to do come to mind, I don't wait, I go to the whiteboard and write them down. Sometime these are thing that I need to do around the house that day or things that I need to do while I am out run around town later in the week. Just before I go shopping I transfer the list from the board to a pad of paper. Things like go to the bank, get gas, go to Costco, and of course the grocery list are all the things that I don't forget because I wrote them down. The old memory ain't what it used to be.

W have so many things in ir lives that are important to us. We always think we will remeber to do them. If we forget, we can become discouraged and frustrated with ourselves. I know from my own experience that if i have something important to do, i try to make a list. It helps in getting the task accomplished.

Well I am having a habit of forgetting things which are very important. So to avoid it, I always set reminder in my cellphone so that I dont forge things that need to be done on time. Also sometimes I mark important dates and task on calender and sometimes stick notes on my table. This way I get rid of forgetting important things. Thanks for this discussion. Take care :)

What I feel is procrastination make the things to forget every time.I have to plan ahead and do the things according with the situation. The person who is loyal, sincere ,truthful, listen to other and respect to other will never forget.Forgetting is also a habit.I have to think twice before ends my work and check whether I have done all the works or not.

The things that work for me are very simple. Everyone thesedays have a cellphone, so just feed a reminder with an alarm for a specific date and time and lo and behold you will see that most of the things actually get done. One more thing that works for me specially in office is to write things down, people do not give a lot of imporatance to this habit but writing things down is very very productive and makes a lot of difference. You see yourself having more time in the long run. Just try it. Best of Luck.

try creating a checklist for all the things you need to do. Arrange them according to priority, urgency and the details needed to accomplish them. write the due date and time for each task. this helps me do multi-tasks and I hope this will help you as well.
