Ricky is 10 century behind to beat sachin in making most century in the history of test cricket. Ricky covers 12000 runs in test and 1600 runs behind from sachin. Might Sachin will take retire by 2011 after playing WC as it is already happen 20 years to him to come in the game of cricket and age will be really matters..As Ricky will carry his cricket career further also..what you think ricky will takes retire after surpass the sachin in counting of test century..?

Well Siliguri, presently he is struggling with his batting form. Cricket Australia will seriously look into his batting and captaincy in tests, presently Australia were not that good against Pakistan in England. After 2011 world cup only we can say but Ponting is looking more fitter than Tendulkar. So, if Australian board allow him to play another 2 years then he will surely surpass Sachin maximum number of centuries. I feel after 2011 World Cup, Sachin should concentrate more on test cricket then other formats, why I am saying is he is getting tired after playing a long innings which it wasn't the case when he was young. Today he got a double hundred against Sri Lanka and he should have made Triple hundred but he got out just passing that double hundred mark, that shows that his body is not cooperating with him. I feel 3 more years Sachin can play test cricket but if he plays ODI's then it will be tough for him to last 3 more years.. Now a days test cricket is played less compared to ODI's and T20.. So, Sachin has to stick with test cricket after 2011 World Cup because he has to create an unreachable records in Test cricket. He is yet to score a Triple hundred and 400 runs as well like Brain Lara. If he scores them then we can say that he had achieved all the records in the test cricket in the field of batting except Don Bradman's average of 99.5% batting average.

Well Sachin may retire from one day cricket after 2011 world cup , but i dont think he will retire from test cricket for at least 2 -3 years.Fitness sessions and all have made it possible to play and keep players fit even after 35. India plays hardly 8-9 tests a year, which Sachin can play .Who knows Ponting retires before Sachin , its unlikely but possible,so i dont see him breaking Sachin's record in tests .

well, i feel its very unlikely that ponting will surpass sachin!!
Many reasons for that!!
First of all sachin is at its prime form right now but at the same time ricky is struggling...
we have also seen sachin taking rest from easy tours like we saw Zimbabwe tour, so he is concerned about his fitness and want to continue for much longer period...
and also with Clarke given the captaincy in twenty-twenty, who knows time can come that he takes guard from ponting looking at his present form and team Australia's performance....

I think it is really going to be difficult for Ricky Ponting to surpass Sachin Tendulkar. Ponting needs another 10 centuries to surpass Sachin and that would mean at least another 15-20 test matches for Ponting which means that it will need him to play at least 3 years and also during that period Sachin not scoring more centuries. I doubt that will happen.
Cheers!

I dont think this would happen because sachin is making centuries at a rapid pace.Ricky ponting have made around 40 centuries and he have to make 10 more to surpass sachin which is a tough task to do.

no siliguri
it is impossible for ricky to cross sachin
the reason is even now sachin is doing well
and yesterday only did he score another century
and ricky ponting is not at his best anymore
like he was before
and nobody wants sachin to retire after 2011wc
i hope you dont want him to retire
