Dengue cases keep rising

It is sad that there are many who have hospitalized because of dengue. My sister who is working as a pediatrician in one of the hospitals in our city told me that almost all of the hospitals in our area, both public and private hospitals, are already full of dengue patients. Our local government has already made moves to destroy the possible breeding grounds of mosquitoes. What else are we going to do?

wow ... I guess I'm fortunate kasi I got over a thousand mosquito bites the other night and am none the worse except for skin healing. :) Eric Have you seen the trucks going around spraying in the squatter areas?

Dengue-carrying mosquitoes don't bite at night. They bite during daytime. You don't have to worry about mosquito bites at night.

it is very unfortunate that our governments are not taking enough steps to eradicate the WATER STAGNATION.. around our habitats.. but, it is our own initiative.. one should see that there is no stagnant water around one's own living quarters. that way, we can break the chain of life of mosquitoes.. and, we can eradicate the breeding grounds of the carriers. it is not just dengue.. there are many other serious diseases spread by the mosquito!

No matter how much effort we do on cleaning our own sorroundings if our neighbors don't clean, still there will be mosquitoes flying around. It must be a community-based effort.

Mosquitoes can come from plants too. The best thing to do is to avoid getting in contact with mosquitoes at all cost. To prevent the mosquitoes from spreading, I would say introduce a biological control to your area like dragonflies, spiders, lizards, and other ones that catches mosquitoes. By introducing biological control, the occurrence of dengue patients will be likely to decline because of the mosquitoes now will have prey. What has your local government have done so far?

Hey, that is a good idea. There are insects which eat the eggs of the mosquitoes.

Actually dengue fever cases are already rampant on our country especially rainy days are here again..and there's no sure medication yet on that illness. Doctors could only give the patient remedy to boost our resistance to combat the virus. And if you can't (especially the children) this would lead to fatal result... I think we must clean our surroundings well to minimized this dengue cases. Nice post my friend.. Mobhomeir here...

I hate mosquitoes here in our house too I am killing more or less 5 of it everyday inside our bathroom. And yet some of it are HUGE! I am hoping that I'll not be having Dengue fever. That disease can immediately kill you.

To prevent A. aegypti in spreading dengue, we should be disciplined in cleaning our surrounding and avoid water stagnation. our Government has nothing to do with it, because they have other priorities than the health of Filipinos. The best thing we could do is start cleaning our houses, then provide health education/ informations to the neighbors. Remember, Prevention is better than cure!

Yes, prevention is really much better than cure. Let us all help clean up our surroundings.
