Can a friend be a soulmate as well?

I'm fond of making friends. Actually, in every phase of my life I got more and more friends. I have them separately..my childhood, in church, in school (High Sch., Graduate and Post Graduate), work, and in our neighborhood. At this point of my life, I can say that all of them loves me too for I and even one among them never had a fight or even petty quarrels. Actually I have these two (a boy & a girl) whom I can considered as best. We're friends for more than 20 years. Being part of my life, sometimes I ask..Aren't they my soulmates?"
Anyone can define a soulmate? Can it be an opposite or the same gender?

Well it is likely that one of your best friends can be a soulmate because When it comes to friends alot of people have more than one friend or they just have that one awesome cool best friend. As for a girl most of there best friends are guys. SO it is possible that one of your best friends can be your soul mate.

A friend can be a soul mate only if they are very close to each other.Only when they share their their interior feelings to each other.You have studied your whole life together but if you are not close then you can't be soul mates.That feelings should come from your inner heart.Its not that only the opposite gender will be soul mates but the same gender can be also soul mates if they are very close.
