the roomie gave me this book that her job sent her, its got that elastic stuff to keep it closed - I'm using that
I was writing the discussions down while Maggiepie was on her computer... so I couldn't email them, unless I wanted to type LONG letters to myself on the silly little pad on the phone - not my idea of fun!

As you already know, I don't usually start discussions because I can never think of anything good to say, lol! My life is so ridiculous right now and I would feel that all I'm doing is whining all the time.
Anyway, I did think of something about a week ago during the middle of the night. Must have been something I dreamt of or whatever, but, ahem, yes, it's gone. And I remember thinking "Oh good, that'll be interesting." Yeh, right, I guess we'll never know, haha.

(yes, I actually laughed out loud!)
I am pretty good about NOT thing of them in the middle of the night, tho sometimes before I fall asleep - I try to "rehearse" them so I can remember them later...
I always seem to come up with the good ones when I can't get to the computer, but this time I was DETERMINED to write them down!
I even dated the pages so I wouldn't repost them again!

hi ElicBxn oh my I am the first. wow. Yes indeed I thought of a great
discussion in the middle of the night several nights back.Okay so I finally get to log on and hit new discussion and zoom what the heck
was it I wanted to write about? I sat there and thought of so many that
I could see were already out there, but the one I knew was not taken it
eluded me. I sat there for ten minutes and grrr the intercom sounded for
lunch and I was still sitting there with the screen already for me to
write that wonderful discussion and nothing happened at all. Thats even more embarrassing than writing a great response and just as you type the
last word it is gone, and hitting the back key does not retrieve it.
At least then you still have the germ of your response in your mind. But to completely zap out thats so irritating. yes writing them down is a great way to save one's ideas.

I have to write every thing down, or it is gone. That is because anything great, interesting , or creative sneaks up when I least expect it and I will be just laying down to sleep or something funky like that and there is an idea, or a poem. I hate it when I do that, because if I do not write it down, I never remember.

Hi Elic, yeah, that's happened to me but more often, I get the idea, run it around my brain a bit at which point I usually decide against it. Sometimes I get to take it a bit further and I actually start to type it out...sometimes I even finish typing it then I re-read it, consider it, (this is dumb, doesn't make sense, too private, of no interest, no-one will respond) then I delete it. LOL.
Then it's on to the next one...

When I started at mylot 4 years ago I went out and bought a notebook that has the elastic band around it and used that to jot down ideas, I carried it around everywhere. I also took my camera everywhere as I could take random pictures of things to use in discussions. It worked out great. Although I never started a lot of discussions and still don't I still have the ideas. I find it to be more interesting to respond, less work at times also. When I start a discussion I tend to want to be able to sit by the computer to comment to my responders as they are responding and not at a later time. Yes those times when the notenook wasn't with me I always think of the best things. Glad you got to jot them down today.

Shoot, I have days that I go to the bathroom and forget why I went there I have paperwork to drop off at my financial aid office at the college I go to, and of course guess what...yep, I forgot it. I went outside to water the garden and forgot to turn on the water.
Even when I do write stuff down, I either lose it or I forget where I put the list. Let's face it, I am hopeless when it comes to remembering things, including at times, how to spell my last name.
Now, if I am in town and I come up with a discussion topic, I call myself at home and leave a message. Hopefully I'll remember NOT to delete it from the machine.

Hi Elic, This happens with me all the time, I thought or loads earlier and my mind is blank now on most of them, have managed to post two though. Sad thing is I have even woken up at night before now with a discussion in my mind and forgotten by morning lol. I think I had better take a pen and paper to bed and do as you have done and write them down. Huggles. Ellie :D

I have a heck of time with this one.
Not only that, but it usually takes me a long time to come up with something to discuss. When I do, I dash to my PC, and then forget how I was going to word it.
This is probably why I ANSWER more discussions, than I create.

Well, it's like I've said sooooo many times before...THINKING only slows you down.
Actually, it's probably got to do more with the fact that we all have or go through somewhat the same life patterns and situations. We find it hard to think of something "knew" to talk about, that would be interesting enough.

I used to happen to me on a regular basis until I decided to write them down too! I’ve been doing if for a while in fact I have pages of what seemed like great ideas for discussions…At the time! When I go back I usually decide all the ideas are not suitable and I sit there and think of something different anyway...So much for my creativity!

That doesn't happen to me because I don't start too many discussions. If I did start discussions a lot, I am sure I would forget. Sometimes when I respond to a discussion, I forget what I wanted to say. I forget everything . I make a lot of lists and then I forget where I put them. I have to leave stuff out so I'll remember to take it with me, and then half of the time I forget it anyway. I guess that's all a part of getting old!

I have a counter right beside the door with my keys and stuff on it. I usually leave whatever it is I want to take on there. Sometimes I get my keys and purse and glasses or whatever happens to be on the counter and forget whatever it is I want to take. I think I will have to put stuff in front of the door so I will remember it or trip over it. Sometimes I take stuff down to the car ahead of time so I won't forget it. That works unless I am going in someone else's car!

I don't star all that many discussions as I have a very hard time coming up with a topic of interest. I would much rather post responses, but when I do come up with what I think is interesting, I had better post it immediately, or I will forget it and have to think all over again what I wanted to say in the first place. I really should write them down though when I am away from my computer as I am very forgetful myuself and I have forgot a lot of what I wanted to say because I would be doing other things and by the time I would remember that I wanted to post a discussion, I had forgot what I wanted to say. I guess it does come of age though as I am not young anymore, and my daughter will tell me at times that I am so forgetful, as she will tell me something, and I would have forgot she did and bring it up, and then she would tell me, that she had told me that already. Anyway, from now on, if I can post an idea immediately, then I certainly will so I don't forget what I was going to say. Good luck to you and hapy mylotting.

I remember about 10 years ago doing that with mom, at least mom had the excuse of having had strokes...
I just have my allergies (and a few minor head injuries) to blame!
the allergies, trust me on this one, are the more valid of the excuses... I really can't remember too much from late 1984 to late 1986
