well it is clear that we human has the ability to think and no one would say that i am fearless and no one fear of anything. so what you do when you face such situation in your life when you come up with it. what you do to calm yourself from fear, fear of not being drooped out by your boss, by your school. what you do. first step as we all say is to avoid it, avoid comming of such situation to your life. second you will say take few deep breath, and calm yurself or drink water.

I am Chlostrophobic. I have a fear of being in a tight space. It's more of feeling like I'm being smothered than being in a tight place. Even in a place of millions of people I could feel like I'm by myself because I feel closed in from not being able to get around a lot. I had sinus surgery in april of 2007 and they didn't tell me that I would wake up with a mask on my face. I woke up and I felt like someone was smothering me and my blood pressure went sky high. They wouldnt let me leave until finally they let me take the mask off and just hold it instead of it being directly on my face. I fine after that. I got to go home about an hour after that.

Yes, coulnd't agree more with you, cachehit. We should avoid fear, or ignore it if possible. It's a bad feeling.

I normally pray because I always believe that fear is not of God. But in practical terms. I take a deep breath and talk to myself, That "this too shall pass"; Or say "I can do it", or recite a bible verse. I put it on my mind that God gives me this (very spiritual you might think) It is very, very effective for me. Whether I face an interview, or an issue, or face an (perceived higher) opposition, or do public speaking, or play in a crowd. I normally come on top of fear. Fear is fairly normal that is why courage is not the absence of fear, but rather doing what is right in the midst of fear. Good day sarath..

I think we all face some kinds of fear. We may not always be willing to face it. When i was younger, my greatest fear was the dark. I am not sure what my greatest fear is now. I know I don't like heights that much. That would have to probably top my list. I know it is said to conquer fear, we must face it. I'm not sure i would be willing to sit alone at the top of a ferris wheel to find out.

Actually, I'm a timid person so what may appear as manifestations of fear is more about brain chemistry being too sensitive to adrenalin. And this is triggered by stress or simply, unfamiliar situations. I learned from the book, The Gift of Fear, that fear as an emotion is not something we should suppress. It is meant for self-preservation. When you genuinely feel fear, you should not resist the urge to flee the scene and remove yourself from the source of the threat to your life. You should trust your fear and just go. Unfortunately, having your heart beating fast is often misdiagnosed as being afraid or fearful. Like I said at the beginning, it may just be because the person inherited a brain chemistry of a timid person. In the book, Emotional Intelligence, the author said that timidity is fairly common and can be outgrown. In any case, I believe that if you can reason with yourself about your fear, then it is not fear. It is just plain anxiety brought about by timidity.

It's normal to feel fear. As we are become anxious of something unknown and we become afraid of anything that might seem as a threat to us or that could potentially hurt us. The way we cope with it, is to try to reason it out. To give the brain time to rationalize the fear. Why are we feeling it? Do we run, or do we fight? It's the fight or flee response, maybe you've heard of it?

We should be responsible with our feelings. Don't fear because that could affect you in a healthy way.

...Everyone has fear in them. Its a natural human emotion/reaction to certain things that we have to deal with in life. This, to me, seems like a pretty redundant question. No offense. And we cant shut ourselves away and avoid the things in life that might cause the fear. It really depends on what kind of person you are..That will be the main factor in how you deal with fear. If you are neurotic to begin with you aren't going to be able to calm yourself with a few deep breaths and a glass of water..Professional help must be saught if you are experiencing excessive amounts of fear in your life or if you react badly to certain situations in which you might feel frightened.

For sure each one of us have it's own fear. Some even fear on their own selves. But we have the ability to conquer our own fears. But no matter how we conquer each of our fears, we can not liberate ourselves not to have the feeling of fear. Fear is not something you need to calm down, to have a deep breath or to drink water, it's something you need to face to free yourself, to conquer it because it's something which limits us from having or wanting something or someone.
