I just wonder if you will be offended when somebody ask you about your age. It happened to me yesterday. A little girl age 8 years old asked me about my age. I just smile at her and said, I am very old like her grandma.. heheh as if she won't believe me. She ask me 3 times in different occasion but in the same day. Since she is a child I keep on making jokes with her, but when she said, oh!! you are young, I thought you are 23? hahahah... she made me laugh. She is a smart girl but even then, I feel embarrass to tell her my age. Of course I am not offended because she is just a child. But if people like me would ask? I usually feel offended, why they are concerned of my age? hehehe What about you?

No, I'm not offended, not a bit.:-)Nor I felt embarrassed. I always have this mindset about my age. When a seemingly younger person asks me of my age I'd pleasantly tell that person my real age, thinking I'm older than you are and you should give me due respect for I've experienced and learned a lot than you have.:-)
When it is an older person, I'd treated her/him kindly and thought to myself, I am younger than you are and i need to learn a lot so be sure to teach me the right thing because I tend to ask a lot, and I mean a lot, to people who are older than me.:-)
Bonus fact: Modesty aside, I look younger than my age.

I think I have found a way to accept life's reality in a positive manner, ei. I love thinking I am old enough to share things and yet I am still young to learn new things.
Thank you, guys, for letting me know I have given you some sort of a positive outlook towards aging.:-)
Great day to both of you.;-)

Ha!ha!ha! I am not offended when people ask my age. In the first place whether they know or not that does not change my age at all. I've been asked many times about my age and I've been telling them without any hesitation. Well then, I am even elated for most of the time I was told I look younger than my age. My age is something I don't really hide for to me the more I age the more I am blessed. Every year added into my life is a blessing from God.

hahah!! that is a very positive outlook my friend. I don't know why I don't want people to ask how old I am.. hehehe.. Well, some of them don't believe me when I tell the truth because I am petite and younger looking hmmmm maybe because I am slim and looks like grade 6 in my side view...hehehe I still want to keep quiet when age is the topic.

I do not see any objection in telling the truth about my real age. Visit my profile and you will see my real age there.
I do not see why we should be embarrassed for being old. Instead we should be proud that we have survived for so long, especially when we are still capable of doing things better than the younger generation.
Anyway would we be believed? I started a discussion about two years ago on looking younger than the actual age. I used to have the problem of people not believing what I told them because they believed I was up yo 15 years younger.
Ny standard answer used to be 'whatever you think my real age is.'

Maybe deep inside we are afraid of being mistaken as being older than we actually are? i have met people who looked older than their age. They were basically upset when others guessed them to be older than they actually were. I remember one person who became slightly angry.

Hi Bebs08,
I wonder why the little girl was so curious about your age? But, like you said, she is a child, so that question coming from her is kinda cute but annoying. I wonder if you had just given her a number would she have believed you and gone away or found another personal question to ask. For instance, "is that the real color of your hair?" You know what I mean?
This question is rarely as to me. I am very proud to announce my age whenever it is asked. I always shock them, because I look a lot younger than I am, so I love see the expression on they faces when they find out my true age. They say you have two ages, one that you celebrate with a yearly birthday and the inner age your body really feel and reveals. There is even a test that one can take to reveal their real age.
Be proud of who you are and share the goodness of years given on this earth. Our years are precious gifts.
So, I guess I am just lucky enough to have those good genes from my grandmother, who never had a wrinkle.

Not at all. But that's probably because people tend to think I'm younger than my age. I would probably feel a bit offended if I was 30 and someone asked me if I was 50 or something.. lol. But that's just my vanity talking. I'd like to say we women won't get offended, but sometimes, we do.

Yeah, what can we say? We women are vain creatures. C`mon, would anyone here like to hear it if somebody asks you if you're twenty years older than you really are? Well, if it's based on maturity, I probably wouldn't mind as much. If they say you're wiser than your age. But if they just said, what?? you're 40? and here I thought you were 70. You look REALLY old. come. on! :P

I don't mind anyone asking my age. I don't feel my age at all and everyone tells me I look younger. What an exciting time to have the kids grown, grandkids and be free as a bird to do my own thing, whatever that may be! I'm happy, married 41 years, healthy, have a thin body, no gray hair, love to dance and even have a few drinks once in awhile. It's the best time of my life so I am proud to tell anyone who asks I am 63.

Not as offended as if they ask my weight.
Seriously, if it's a child, I don't have a problem with it. Children are naturally curious, and age is one of those things that they're curious about. But if it's an adult who knows better, yeah maybe...

Yeah my friend. I remember one situation in my own life that I would never forget. It was all about age matter. When I was at my teen years, there were lots of situation where I was not permitted to joined in due to my age minority. In order for me to joined without having some identifications, I never told my real age rather telling it into something higher at least at minimum age required to joined.
E.g. Like watching adult movies...
Now that I am already almost at the peak of my age, I can't avoid but to reduce it if ever there would be someone who would ask..
Would that be so funny?
Funny discussion isn't it?
Mobhomeir here..

Hello! I am am not and I should not because its the truth and whether I look younger or loder than my real age, its not my problem anymore, LOL! Honestly, when I was younger, about age of 10, many always guessed my age as 17-18 years old already. During that time, I feel so flattered because I wanted to became a young lady right then. But now that I turned 33, if its possible to stop my aging, then I will do it because I feel that there's so many things in this world to be discover and one lifetime is not enough to learn everything, well of course its impossible so I just thank the good Lord for every day that He geve into our lives. Have a nice day ahead, good discussion!

I am like you. I hate it when people ask me my age. What's the point anyway, when most of the time they don't believe it when I told them.
I never based any relationship on age, more on the personality and interests. When people asked me my age, it was like they wanted to know so they could decide whether they wanted to continue be friend with me or not.

Not at all. Although I am already on my old years, I dont care about my age. For me everybody will get old and it so happen that I am ahead of them. But age doesnt matter. What matters most is how you handle your self and your family and your work that matters.

Usually I won't. However, recently, someone asked me in a way that seemed to be insulting me. That person was in the same training group as I during my Sunday badminton trainings. He appeared to always look down on me as I wasn't that up to par, but he ain't that good either. What gave him the right to look down on others? Anyway, that time, after training when I was going home, he suddenly asked about my age and after telling him, he giggled together with his mother. I don't know why but it seemed like an insult to me. I just don't know why do such people exist?

Well, that is really offending, but you don't know why that person giggled? maybe it's not about you? But anyway, people like that are not worth to spend our emotions. Don't entertain the thought of getting angry to them. Just ignore them as if they don't exist hehehe

I dont get offended when somebody ask my age I dont even lie on it.What makes me disgusted is when somebody will comment "ah so your old already" after I give the number.I think its an impolite remark, and I cant stop myself felling irritated especially when I looked at their face and see how they looked older than I.

Well, I amn 40 years old and it doesn't bother me who knows. They say "age is just a number" and it is true. While obviously I like it if people say I look younger than my age, but I would never lie about it and say I was younger than I really am. Kids come out with some funny things. Of course if you are 8 years old, then 16 sounds ancient!!!
