I absolutely think that the only no.23 that the Cavaliers and all the teams in the NBA is Michael Jordan's 23, no other. LeBron James is a superstar no doubt about that. But I guess no matter how excellent he is in playing basketball and leading a team, I think he just ended it when he decided to be part of a team rather than leading one. Even if he deserves having his number retired as a Cavalier, fact is.. he's not anymore. And like the article at nba.com, "It's just the exit that was really wrong." - Can cleveland fans endure watching his number being retired after what they call LeBron's decision as a cowardly act of betrayal?. I don't think so. Even if its right to retire his number, most would have mixed feelings about it. That's just my opinion.

It's still any players' right to choose what team he'll play on. But his legacy at Cleveland is just so good that his exit prematurely ended what could have been the greatest legacy of any player ( post MJ )ever.

He pretty much screwed over the city of Cleveland financially. I was watching this video on ESPN showing actual people in the city. They were saying how their profits were going to dip drastically and there would be a whole lot of turmoil over the next several months. And the thing is, I don't think that three ball hogs are going to be able to play with chemistry that is good enough to win an NBA championship. I am sure that Miami is thrilled to get three great basketball players, but each of them were meant to lead their own individual rosters, not team up in such a foolosh fashion.

For me i think they should, the franchise become powerful when LBJ comes in Cleveland.. They should tribute No.23 because he is the instrument why CAVS reach the finals, even now i could still remember the Heroic moment when LBJ beat the PISTON hard in their own arena, that day i start believing that he is the Most talented player in the NBA History.. He is just awesome so talented and know how to entertain the fans... Long lived the King!!!!

He is really one the most talented currently in the NBA but abandoning you're team like that was not very nice and I bet he will booed by the Cleveland forever. :)

with all the heat he has taken in cleveland(yeah heat, lol)from the pissed off owner and all the angry fans i don't think they would allow it. i think he made a smart move though by going to miami. i really don't understand why people are angry at his decision. he has a right to choose where he wants to go play. with the angry letter the cavs owner wrote to the media i wouldn't want to play in cleveland either if i was james. the cavs owner sounds like a real jerk.

I'd have to say no on this. LeBron did help to put Cleveland on the map for basketball fans and all but the way kind of just ditched them was uncool. I don't know if the people of Cleveland would want his jersey hanging up in the rafters of their stadium as some kind of bad reminder. I have to admit that in the long run I probably wouldn't even recall all of the accomplishments made by LeBron in Cleveland. The thing I'd remember about him was him giving up in that game against the Celtics. He didn't even look like he was going to try and make a comeback or anything. People are going to say that he's still a young player and all that but I can't see someone as a great player if they're not going to give their all til the end. I'm going to remember him as the guy who quit against the Celtics.

Yeah Lebron definitely didn't give his best against the Celtics. I wish there are more player like Kevin Durant who is very humble even he is a great player.

I think they should , but then I think they shouldn't. Number 23 is sacred to Cleveland because LeBron was their hero .
