did indians spolied the spirit of test cricket?

hi friends.actually not gonna comment on the indian bowling as it is made official that pitch is a dead one. its actually other things. so srilanka scored 642 and played out almost 5 and half sessions.cool india scored 669/9 at the end of day 4so pretty much they played out 6 and half sessions. ok indians played almost 226 overs in a dead pitch and didnt it occur to them that even if they declare after 550 runs and allow the srilankans to bat,they would never lose this match? sure its very hard for a result in this pitch but atleast we can apprecite the guts of the indians if they did something like that at lunch on day 4 and make the match a lil intresting? if that had happened,you could have expected the same kinda gutness from the lankans.who knows.they might have played till lunch on day 5 and gave india a target of around 320 and let them try it the remaining 50 odd overs. thats what makes a good test match i wonder why indians still call themselves as the number one test team if they cant simple risks? or may be they were trying to get even for something else happened a decade back when srilanka scored more than 900+ runs. whatever the case,this match,even including sachin's and sanga's double ton and raina's maiden ton,is a total waste. nice way to boost the intrest of the test crowd people.
