you require mental rest 1.try to keep your mind thoughtless this you can do with practice for some days because perhaps you have some kind of stress ans stress releases free radicals in body all free radicals are harmful and we are living in environment which is polluted steps to do 1. take plenty of water 2.take any natural antioxident for this you can eat freshly picked fruit or vegetable (not more than 3 hours should have passed ofter picking) 3.take milk and some nuts like water soaked almonds 4. wash your feet with normal cold water you will definitely go to sound sleep

Have you been up for 40 hours straight? and have you been drinking anything with caffine in it like coffee or soda? Cuz if you haven't and you're not even a little tired then you should go see a doctor because that isn't healthy. It could be a sudden onset of insonmia.

almost running 2 days without sleep... hmmmm is something bothering you like something on your mind of late? or did you take anything like an energy drink that somehow keeps you awake? how about making your room comfy enough that you'll let sleep find you soon? clear your bed, put on new bedspreads, turn on some favorite music but not too loud, have a nice shower and put on comfy clothes, read a book, and drink something hot or warm. i hope any of those will make you relax enough to lull you towards sleep. goodluck!

Hiya nobbsy123, It does sound like you have got a real problem, have you been doing anything that stops you from sleeping, such as too much caffeine, energy drinks and the such like. Or maybe you have been keeping strange hours, such as working odd shifts. If your body clock is out of synch then this can cause just such a problem. Go see the doctor if this is a one off, but if it is more of a long term problem, go see a hypnotherapist, they can help you with sleep problems by reprogramming the body. Good Luck.

Wow you're just like me mate, I suffer from insomnia I have trouble sleeping. I can't sleep all night and will sleep for only an hour or two at a time. I wanted to be put on some medication but my doctor refused and said that it wouldn't help in the long term and that I'd become dependent on the tablets so I had to try really hard to change my sleeping habits. Something I'm trying is that I'm doing super hard excercise during the day and tiring myself out till literally I drop to the ground lol. If you have a treadmill use that or if you have some dumbells use those. You can also keep doing press ups until you can't do anymore and just keep doing it for an hour, it should be healthy for you too. Also apparently it's not good to eat 2-3 hours before you sleep and can keep you away, obviously avoid foods and drinks with caffiene in them like tea and coffee. If you've been sitting in a chair all day not moving you're going to find it hard to fall asleep because you haven't used all your energy. I'm still working on it and it's starting to improve so maybe this will work for you I hopefully. I know it can be really frustrating sometimes. Oh and when you are in bed keep off any distractions, switch off the tv, computer etc. make sure you have a nice bed and the temperature in your room is good. And clear your mind of any thoughts because I know they are probably one of the best things that keep me awake.

hello nobbsy, Amazingly ! 40 hours awake & not even a slight sign of tiredness or sleepiness. There must be something that's bothering you or maybe you are stresses about something..Try to relax your mind, think of all the wonderful things that happened to you & try to think of a place picture it with beautiful flowers like a paradise) I have tried it,it works for me).& have a glass of milk...don;t count sheep,it will make you more awake(they will bleat ,too much noise then).Hope you get to sleep soon..& yes you might go to doctor but they will just give you a medicine of insomnia like antihistamine. It will make you drowsy thus you will sleep
