Anyone here on mylot into the horror fiction of HP Lovecraft? He was a big, big influence upon Stephen King, and has written some absolutely fantastic stuff - he was writing in the early to late 1920s, really pessismistc and nihilstic stuff. He also wrote the Call of Ctuhlhu, which is one of my favourite short stories of all time, it's such a great read. I love his crazy, flamnoyant writing style too. So, any HPL fans out there? Cthuhlu phtag'n! :)

hi jkllewthor oh I loved H P Lovecraft, but have not read any of his stuff for ages. My adult son had turned me on to Lovecraft and his writing really fascinated me too. Of the Call of Ctuhlhu was one fantastic story. I did go from there to Stephen King and read a lot of his books too. I had not thought of Lovecraft in a long time.

Yeah, he really is ace. Did you ever read the Shadow Over Innsmouth? That was such an excellent story, another one of my big favourties. He's such a great writer, it's nice to meet someone who also really likes his fiction.

I have most of his works and he is one of my favorite authors. He is one of the Fathers of horror and gave birth to nearly all of the genres of horror that we know today. I do hope that they do a decent job of the upcoming movie At the Mountains of Madness as anything that has been adapted so far has been weak, except for maybe Dagon.

I've read some Lovecraft and some Lovecraft like material. Probably when I was subscribing to Weird Tales. I'm not quite a fan though...
