should we care about jersey shore?

over the weeks i keep hearing about jersey shore but to me what they represent? really i need to know because i don't see them doing anything for the community on the show. i have not hear one of the cast members do something positive why we love the controversial shows? or we afraid to say what they are saying or just we love seeing people making a mess out of themselves?
