Yeah I know it's not a good habit to always eat fastfood. But what can you do if there are no other available food outlets except for fastfood chains? Will you just keep yourself hungry and wait until you come home OR eat in a fastfood chain?
I ate for almost a week in a fastfood chain. I had no choice that time so I just ate even though I knew it was not healthy
What can you suggest then?

there is no problem with that.. especially when you are really hungry.. the important thing is that you eat at the right time and not let your stomach left empty, cause that can lead to more problems... on the other hand... if your not that hungry.. its better to eat at home... you know its clean, you know its safe, you save money... and... nothing beats homemade dishes.. :).. I love eating... when it comes to fastfoods.. I love eating at Jollibee.. have you tried eating there?? where do you usually eat??

I think if you are ok with it then so be it. I kind of get sick of eating out at times. I have five kids that I am always budgeting where I can. Eating out is ok but not that often. I make my husband his food to take to work. They have a cafeteria at work but he says he doesn't like their food. Sometimes things look good and he buys but it's not that often. I usually prepare food for him the night before so he can warm up at work. Maybe if you take some things that you can heat up if you are not into fast food that day or even fruit.

alright! thanks for the suggestion! i'll try to make sometime when I'm not out-based for work. There are times that I have a packed lunch or snacks given only if i'll be staying in the office for the whole day BUT if i'm out-based i guess bringing packed lunch is a hassle. hmmmm.. what do you think?

Well maybe you can enjoy the luxory of doing it now before you have to really budget with a family. I remember when I used to work for a bank the tellers would go out to eat at restaurants on Friday. It was nice. I didn't realize how nice it was until now. I see people eating out at lunch with fellow co-workers. I remember those days with a smile...

Yes. Eating fast food for one whole week is not healthy at all. What I did was to go to the grocery and buy lots of healthy food that are easy to prepare or cook. There are days when I had mango crab salad or Caesar salad. Sometimes I had a tuna sandwich. Sometimes I also have a simple meal of egg, fried rice, and sausage.

I won't eat fastfood for a week, because that is just so unhealthy, and expensive at the same time. Heheheh. I think I would just probably buy some cooked meals in a small restaurants somewhere, I mean, there are always those every where you go, right?

Hi,
Eating too much fastfood is not good for health.
Once a while eat, then should be fine.
I can fully understand your situation, when you can only
find fastfood while your stomach is hungry,so just eat them
and you will feel full.
What you can do : get ready some bread or biscuits with you when
you go out, so at least when you feel hungry, you have some
food at your side.at least,it is more healthy.
Do bring along a bottle of water with you whenever you go out,
drinking too much soft drink is not good for health too.

Many fast food chains are revamping their menus to respond to customers comments. For example, some chains no longer serve foods with trans fat, and many have menu items that contain fruits and vegetables. If you are having fast food more than once a week, try to make healthier choices. Here are some tips:
* Choose foods that are broiled over fried such as a grilled chicken sandwich instead of fried chicken or chicken nuggets.
* Choose soups that are not cream based (For example: If the name of the soup includes the word cream, such as "Creamy Tomato Soup", avoid ordering it).
* Have low-fat salad dressings instead of the full-fat kind.
* Have a salad or soup instead of fries.
* Use mustard or ketchup instead of mayonnaise.
* Order smaller entrée portions. For example: instead of a large sub, try a small sub with a side salad or piece of fruit.
* If you are getting a side, order a small, or kid sized portion. A large fry has approximately 500 calories and 25 grams of fat, while a small fry has about 60% less fat and calories (230 calories and 11 grams of fat).
* When ordering a sub or sandwich, select leaner meats like turkey or grilled chicken instead of fried items such as burgers or steak, and cheese sandwiches.
* Choose water, low-fat milk, or diet sodas instead of regular sodas, fruit drinks, milkshakes, or whole milk.
* When ordering pizza, add veggies instead of meat, and get thin crust instead of deep dish.
* If fruits and veggies are available, try to add them into your meal. For example, have lettuce and tomato on sandwiches or burgers.
Most fast food and restaurant chains post their nutrition information online. Use a search engine to find the companies web page. There is usually a link to the nutrition section on the home page where you will find nutrition facts, including fat, cholesterol, sodium, protein, calories, and more. Take a look at this information to help you make healthier choices when eating out.

i love fast food too. this heatwave we had in July made me go one day a week to the fast food establishments. i don't want to continue, however, it is fattening. i try to cook myself meals during the week when i go food shopping. i make salad for the week. i take portion out each day with my meal. i can have a piece of chicken with that or some fresh fruit. i can buy corn on the cob and have that with a meal as well. i will make tuna fish salad with celery and onions and miracle whip. i fold it instead of mixing it because then it turns mushy. i like tv dinners, too. the deli is good too. i buy some lunchmeats or low salt ham. i will have a sandwich with tomato and lettuce and perhaps soup or salad. i hope these ideas have helped. best to you

If I had no choice, then I would have to eat fastfood. I do get my cravings for juicy burgers every now and then but I do not think I would survive more than a week just eating at fastfood chains. And you are right, it is not healthy. Thus, if you can, I think it would be a good idea to do home-cooked meals.
Have a nice day!

Fast food does have some healthier options depending on where you go. Taco bell has a fresco menu. Mcdonalds,Wendys and Arbys have some good salads. I would say if I had to eat fast food for a week I would try to choose healthier options like the salads or go someplace like subway where I can get extra veggies.

it's not healthy indeed...foods from fast food are very oily and they don't care less if the food they serve is healthy or unhealthy as long as it's giving them good revenue... but as the name speaks for itself..it's indeed fast and very much accessible when you are very hungry...we are left with no choice at all..*sigh* i'm a fast food eater too...bad eating habits...tsk tsk tsk...

a bad eating habit, indeed. it's unhealthy if too much. so i guess we need to minimize and control ourselves from eating fast foods. they will only make us fat. hahahaha. kidding. but seriously they can make us sick if we eat too much. next time i'll make sure i have a more healthful foods. thanks for sharing your thoughts!

i have no problem with it as long as you choose at least once in a while a healthier option and budget your self wisely. some fastfood outlets are extremly exspensive. 3 dollars for water, i dont think so

A few years ago before I met my husband I lived with my grandparents. They would get fast food almost every night, so we were always eating something that wasn't exactly healthy for us. When I started working long hours it was either eat at work, or grab something on the way home, which was usually fast food.
Now though we might get food out, but not all of it is fast food.

I think anybody can eat anything they want, as long as they balance their diet out. I wouldn't starve myself though, so I would eat fast food than starve. Though even at fast food places they have some healthy food.

I could not do this, fastfood makes me real kinda sick, so I eat it very rarely only. I would probably have brought like small snacks with me to the place, fruits, yoghurts, that kind of stuff. Then I could have eaten that instead, and maybe just something small from the fast food places...

Kyel_11 not all fast food chains are bad for the health. There are a lot of types of food you can try in a fast food chain. I myself is an avid fast food eater its like I eat often almost every other day sometimes everyday. But still there is nothing wrong with me. Keeping yourself hungry will only affect you mood and might be more detrimental to your health. But then it is your choice if you would eat in a health fast food chain or just go the usual fast food chain. Happy eating!

According to the study, men visited fastfood restaurants more frequently than women and blacks more frequently than whites. One reason for the weight gain may be that a single meal from one of these restaurants often contain enough calories to satisfy a person's requirement for entire day.I don't want to take fastfood because I am very concern about my health.

Obviously we prefer for fast food ,when we don't have other option. When I am in hurry I always used to take fast food. Mostly I Prefer fast food rather than rice and curry. Almost 1 month has passed but I didn't feel that I am getting problem. But I would like to say it depends on individual. In our family we all like fast food but my father take often because its doesn't suits him.
