You can tell that he's lying when he's too defensive about it. For example, when you ask him, he immediately raises his voice, it is his way of shutting you up for you not to ask further about the things that he doesn't want you to know. There are times too that when you are talking to him about it, he cannot look at you directly in the eyes. Or he maybe fidgeting while he talks...but the best way to know if he is lying is to caught him off guard about it...you can do it by plainly asking him in a calm, natural manner so he may not get suspicious that you are trying to fish out information that you already have, and if he says otherwise, then you'll know all are lies...

you'll just ask some tactics questions then if he's sweating or want to change the topic then you'll know if he's lying or not.

When you caught him in the act or you have the evidence that your partner is cheating and then your partner will deny it or make an alibi... then your partner is a cheat!
