I have a friend who always listens to one song. He always play it before his going to bed and after he woked up and when his going to school. He did that for three months straight because he has a new favorite song that he wants to listen to everyday. I never really believed what he was saying to me until I deciced to ask her mom then I realize that his saying the truth. His a really smart and special person by the way and he really a genius. Sometimes I wish my mind is like him except that I won't listen to one same music everyday.

So, by listening to the same song everyday, he became smarter? I think I might want to try it... School starts soon and I would like to prep for it since its my hardest year yet. Does it have to be a specific genre like classical? Or could it be any type of music? I think i will try classical. Thank you for your help with this.

I have had moments where I really like a song and I have the habit of playing it pretty much all the time. I don't think it's quite lasted a month, although I have done for many days in row. I get bored of listening to the same song so much, although I can listen to them repeatedly in the same day.
Music would be boring if it was the same all the time.

LOL a lot of people do that. Sometimes it is a music that reminds them of something, sometimes it brings them to a special/specific situation, sometimes it is a comforting music or song, and sometimes they just like it that much :)
My daughter goes trough phases where she listens to the same song several times a day and or has a special music that she likes to listen to before going to sleep.
Personally, although I do like music, I don't always listen at all, but there have been times where a song is stuck in my head for some time, and I do tend to listen to it more often.
It's a matter of preference, really, and each person is different :)

I've never listened to one song everyday for that long but I did listen to an entire CD everyday for about 2-1/2 months straight. And it was the only music I listened to during that time. It was the TITANIC movie soundtrack. I was so blown away by the movie and the soundtrack the first time I saw TITANIC that I became mildly obsessed with it. The soundtrack, in my opinion, was a major reason why that movie was so successful. After seeing TITANIC for the first time I went the very next day and bought the soundtrack on CD and bought it on cassette tape a few days later. I kept the CD in my home stereo and when I woke up each day I would start it playing and just let it repeat until I had to leave the house. When I went anywhere I let the cassette tape play over and over in the car.

Hi,crizjordan,
No, I haven't deliberately listened to the same song everyday for a month, but I don't think there is anything wrong with loving a particular song so much that you want to hear it everyday. I do have a favorite song, (Haven't Met You Yet), by Michael Buble, I hear it on the radio several times a day, everyday. You will eventually get tired of it and just want to hear it every once in awhile.
This song obviously has a special meaning for your friend. So, I wouldn't make fun of his obsessive behavior in playing the song over and over. Maybe it gets him going in the morning. You know, like having a glass of orange juice or a cup of coffee. Most of us do those things everyday and people think that is absolutely normal. Surely we will be doing those things longer than your friend will being playing his song. He's fine, let him enjoy his moment.

If i had to yes, i could listen to one whole song for a month so as long it wasn't boring, something techno, rap i don't mind. but if it was something like a slow, love music then i would probably get bored easily. but again if i had to i can, and i don't mind, if doesn't bother me at all. But i wont do it without a reason or without gaining something, if it was a dare i would gladly take it. Peace.

Yeah... I always do that if there's a particular song that really catches my attention. I listen to it in my ipod every chance that i get during the day, and also before I sleep. Sometimes I would even make it as my ringing tone. It's really crazy. But the thing is... after a month or so (haven't tried reaching 2 months), I can't stand listening to the same song again. It's like I'm really over it and so disgusted with it after hearing it always that I don't even wanna listen to it anymore.

I think I would find this very difficult and in time it would become boring! On the other hand I do have some songs which I really love and I suppose I could listen to them over and over without hesitation. I think the most important thing is that you gain pleasure from listening to your music and if this means listening to one song in particular then that is fine.
Perhaps your friend will change his mindset in time and start listening to something else although there's nothing wrong with what he's currently doing. I'm sure that he will become bored with this strategy in time and will try something new. Andrew

Your friend's experience is not weird judging from my argument, since I have such experience like him. I think if we feel that the song's lyric has touched our heart inside deeply and we love the song's rhythm as well, then it just happens naturally.

hi crizjordan,
yes I have. There are days that I want to hear a certain song each and everyday for it inspires me and makes my day "oh so" bright. Although there are moments that I want a new flavor and don't want to hear my favorite anthem.....it sometimes so redundant and boring. That is why it is better to hear new music all the time.

When I was young, I was an avid fan of the Backstreet Boys and I listened to their songs more a month. I always listened to it and I get to memorize all the lyrics of their songs. My cd of their album got destroyed when I was already in college and I didnt get to use it anymore.

Why do we have to try if it is our favorite songs? I myself have some beloved songs that can be listened everyday. Especially when I want to learn to sing that song, I will repeat and sing along. However, listening a song within a month may make my brain go crazy. Should have something new and fresh for my ears then.^^
