The same old thing

Predictability, who else is finding it more and more easy to predict what happens next in pretty much any movie? what happened to plot twists that surprise you, why does the good guy always win? Isn't it about time the standard run of the mill movie productions were changed to put the excitement back into going out to see a movie?
Making a movie used to require thought, imagination, creativity, ambition, nowadays it's just whatever sells, If it sells several other movie producers produce similar movies to cash in on the latest interest, movies are being made like items on a conveyor belt in a factory. All similar, All predictable
What are your thoughts on this?

Well a very enlightened viewpoint especially in reference to if a movie makes money then basically everyone jumps on the bandwagon and dishes up more of the same, usually in the form of a needless sequel or sequels. The trouble is that the days when Hollywood was all about entertainment and delivering something new and different are long gone as it has turned into purely a business where the bottom line is of more importance rather than the actual integrity of the movie. And as such we get movies which are about star power rather than the actual movie, put Johnny Depp and Julia Roberts in some dull rehash of something else and it will out sell everything. Plus those in charge now, those making the movies and decisions were raised on TV and movies in the 80s which explains why we are now getting an influx of 80s remakes.
Whilst it may seem that Hollywood is running out of ideas I don't think that is so much the case as there is plenty of good, original, thought provoking stories out there. It's just that Hollywood doesn't want to take risks and the only one's who can take a risk our those with a proven track record such as Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese. Which basically means that those good story ideas which are out there end up being made my indie studios and never really get seen by the masses because they don't get the publicity to bring them into the public awareness.
Whilst I can see why the movie industry has changed it doesn't mean I agree with it and likewise wish that those making mainstream movies would take a few risks and give us something which varies from the normal pap which masquerades as modern movies. Until that happens I will continue to watch movies from 30, 40, 50 and 60 years ago where the most important element was the storyline and not some special effect or star.

Agreed, some of the older movies are a lot more worth watching than the modern ones. Romance was romance, war was war, love was love, Action was a mixture of the three, movies were something to talk about, Now they are just something to watch to fill in time while waiting to fall asleep or even just for backround noise

There are some movies that are predictable, yeah I agree. There are also some twists that is also predictable. But some movies like that of the HPotter series have twists that the ending hasn't been known into me.

i think hollywood is running out of ideas for movies, and yes its easier for me to predict whats going to happen in movies. every once in a while though i will come across a movie that surprises me with the unexpected. i guess the lack of ideas running out for movies is why were seeing all these remakes of classic films.
