How to deal with a Horrible Boss

Have you ever dealt with a horrible Boss? You know, the one who micro manages you,enjoys being in everyone's business, watches you like a hawk, makes things personal and worse, someone who you think is really not that good? How do you deal with that? I think this situation is very hard because they have the power to assign good or bad tasks for you and eventually fire you. I am a very strong person and I speak up everytime I am wronged. I am worried that this trait of mine will not work with my new Boss. Any ideas?
