A little while back a friend(?) asked for my opinion on the mexican/latino argument that Arizona has built the bonfire under..And after receiving multiple negative opinions from 'God fearing, flag waving white folk' AND having grown quite tired of it, I saw fit to answer his query. Granted, it is rather generalized. But it makes my point, I believe. He understood it..Didn't like it tho.
Now you may agree or you may join the conga line at the effigy burning/stone the heretic party. Such is America, agreement is not a requirement for opinion.
My answer to his query is as follows..
FREKE HISTORY
Everyone is familiar enough with history to recall hearing tell of the beginnings of this nation we call home..of the Pilgrims' flight from an inhospitable home to a nation of freedom founded on the 'need' for religious and social freedom.
Well, this is gonna sound strange but, you know, nobody checked ahead for vacancies, nor did they make any reservations for their eventual arrival. And once here, tho not invited to stay by the then residents, they stayed and had the gall to raise a fuss at not being welcomed with open arms..And what they weren't given freely, our freedom loving ancestors simply took, using and ofttimes abusing the resources they found, with no concerns to others who used and needed them..Anyone who opposed our actions, with that obnoxious air of justice and freedom, were simply slaughtered.
The point? The latino folk in this country..Given our history are we sure we want them to follow our lead?
And given all the fuss of how these latino folks are destroying our economy with their 'abuse' of OUR resources..We wouldn't want for any of those black/white pregnant teeny-boppers who, by the way, never added cent one to the system, to lose THEIR free ride at taxpayer expense. But, of course, they are not illegal, as are many latinos, tho the economic burden remains the same and need be pursued in the same light.
It puts me in mind of yet another historical personna who, likewise, blamed a convenient scapegoat for the economic strife of his era. Simply put, the economy of pre-war Germany was bad off and, as with the US of present, needed a solution. Well, rather than go head to head with the problem which had a better chance of solving the problem, the solution was to find an ethnic group to blame and victimize and allow the problem to continue unhindered.
Granted, we have not reached the violence of Hitler in our social dealings with the latino population in this country..Likewise, thankfully, neither have they reached the violence of the invader as our forefathers did with the Native American people..But I can't help but wonder who are we to dare to fuss at all?!
There it is..Your opinion? I'll be at the house putting on the armor..
Enjoy!

Hiya greenfeathers,
I have read what you have said and I think reading between the lines I know what is going on over there. But still I really honestly can´t give an opinion because it´s something that is out of my territory. At least I think it is.
There are tensions of that kind here too but it´s on a multi level like there but not so widespread.
I do know what it´s about but again I can´t find a for or against because I have´nt lived there. But it´s good to get another impression from someone who does know what´s going on because they live it too that´s what I mean to say.
I have seen a bit of it on the News I watch about five minutes of news every three Days and I heard them mention Arizona but did´nt know what had happened either. I imagine well it looked to me like a Protest outside some Building this was about two Days back now.
Sorry to seem so green but I have got a clearer idea of it all just the same.
