What is joy to you?

There's a big, expensive banner in my area that says "Joy is BMW". I bet not all BMW owners would say so, huh? We've heard of rich and famous people who died without finding real joy in this life. So I don't think this slogan would sell. Joy to me is knowing I'm doing the right thing in the eyes of God and men.

Meaning of joy differ person to person. To a good person joy is sharing, helping & giving where as to an evil person the meaning is different. I think you are a good person thatswhy your joy is doing right thing in the eyes of God and men :-)

Joy is an important thing in our livesand is often lacking in today's world. Something I constantly notice is that unembarrassed joy has become rarer. Joy today is increasingly saddled with moral and ideological burdens, so to speak. When someone rejoices, he is afraid of offending against solidarity with the many people who suffer. I don't have any right to rejoice, people think, in a world where there is so much misery, so much injustice... Personally speaking, there is a moral attitude at work here. But this attitude is nonetheless wrong. The loss of joy does not make the world better - and, conversely, refusing joy for the sake of suffering does not help those who suffer. The contrary is true. The world needs people who discover the good, who rejoice in it and thereby derive the impetus and courage to do good. Have a joyful day everyone :)

We could all use more of those magic moments. As the world and our lives get more complex and worrisome, it's easy to lose perspective. With so much on our "to do" list, sometimes we need to plan for joy. So, get out your calendar and ask yourself this simple question: "What makes me joyful? "Spending time with a special friend? Running? Singing? Dancing? Sitting in the silence? Reading a juicy novel? Playing with your dog? Walking in the woods? Watching a favorite comedy? Writing in your gratitude journal? Make a list of all you can think of and then start adding them to your calendar. You can always find room for more joy in your life. Oooppsss..Did I answer your question? I actually mentioned it above, those activities make me joyful!

joy is a simple 3-letter word that speaks volume. for me, joy is being a lot of things... ... being able to enjoy living in good health, overcoming sickness and able to function fully and completely. ... being able to enjoy, laugh and share blessings with family, friends and the ones we hold dear. ... being able to appreciate the beauty of life, nature and the people we are blessed to have in this journey of living. ... and being able to celebrate every little success we truly deserve. real joy is finding what really makes us happy... beyond the glitz and glamour... beyond material things.

i'm a simple person... living a simple life... with simple joys. i learned at an early age to find joy in what we have and not to dwell on what we don't have. even if i can afford material things, i felt that it's not necessarily the source of my joys.

ruthsm, I like your way of thinking. Joy to me is a gift from God that He gives to his servants. Without God one can never experience real joy. Joy is a feeling deep within one's heart. It is not the result of possessions or anything else in our surroundings. Nehemiah 8:10 (New International Version) 10 Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Thank you for your kind words, sir. Your thoughts are well appreciated, too. Thanks for sharing that beautiful verse here. Very well appropriate. Yes, we should be glad and enjoy life but we are to share our blessings to others too. More blessings to you!

Joy is one of the fruit of the spirit. I believe it can be felt when you have love, peace, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. It has a big different with happiness. Sometimes it's unexplainable because sometimes you can be happy but without joy.

To me joy is being content with your life and having something to laugh about everyday. It's also about doing what you love doing most whether that be spending time with your family or having the career that you've always wanted or working to get there to bring you joy.

Joy to me is life and what you do with it. So many people let the joy of life slip away from them. Never knowing joy is the saddest thing we can ever experience. Joy can lighten your heart. it is the path to happiness.

The joy is some thing that we feel and have enjoyment for certain period of time and it is really hard to have a joy every time .For me if I meet with my close friends that we will be having fun, jocks and share sweet able memories that we had before and I am having joy when those thing were there.
