What is the latest anti-virus?

If you are looking for free anti-virus software then my bet would be on AVG. It has proven itself through the years. Though there are still some virus that it fails to remove or protect you from. For the paid version, my bet would be Bitdefender, it has help me protect my OS from viruses in the past years and is very effective in capturing new viruses. It has daily updates too.

Did you mean the best anti virus or the latest? When it comes to security softwares, often latest is not the best. The best anti virus I know is gdata, very little false detection, reasonable speed and detects threats much better than any other software. If you are looking for free anti-virus then the best is avira personal edition.

For all that I know it is the Microsoft Security Essentials which is provided free by Microsoft.Here's the website http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ I have tried it seems good but I still stick to AVG free coz I like the interface and provides comparable protective with paid antivirus softwares. http://www.avg.com/ww-en/homepage
