But it seemed so real...

You wake up in a cold sweat, heart racing as you bolt to attention in your bed. You have just conquered an evil villain; or perhaps you relived an emotional experience; maybe you faced your own death. And it seemed so real.
Respond to this discussion by describing your most vivid dream. Is this a recurring dream, or did you only have it once? Did any portion of the dream play itself out in real life? Did you learn anything about yourself from the dream?

Acctually, I did have once an incredible dream that I never forget the feelings. I guess it was in the morning, and I slept with my curtain shut. I was not really sleeping and I had this vague consciousness. Then I could feel a very heavy stuff on my back, and it became heavier and heavier. Oh my god it was just too heavy for me to bear, I was totally awake at that time. You could imagine how terrified I was. I struggled as much as I could, but it was just there, keeping pressing me. I could hardly take a breath and I had no idea what it was. I forced myself to move and tried very hard. Eventually I succeeded. I sat on the bed in a cold sweat. I though it was far more than just a dream,it was so real. Fear, tension, confusion were overwhelmed me.

Well I've never woken up in a cold sweat. I've had dreams that felt real just because they were actually consistent with reality (Which my dreams rarely are.) as in my family acted just like they act in the waking world, we encountered a situation we might have in the waking world, and my house and everything was in complete order. Those are the dreams where I wake up and I'm like... "No way! That was all a dream?"
My most vivid dream ever was a lucid dream sometime in early morning several years ago. I fell asleep, and found myself out in the bright sun walking along the deck of a ship. The ocean was to one side of me, the rest of the ship and crowds of people on the other side of me. It really felt like it was real. I smelled the sea and I felt the wind in my face... though all the while I knew I was dreaming.
Never had a recurring dream. Never had a dream "play out" in reality. Never really learned anything from a dream. (Except that my subconscious either has no idea what it's doing or that it's sarcastic.)
