Faith Does Move Mountains

According to the Bible, I am sure there's a familiar verse which says and I quote: " if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20; and, faith today did not move Mount Everest but moved a heart from a certain uneventful fate.
It touched and moved the heart of a would be armed robber in a mobile phone shop, in Pompano Beach, Florida. Apparently, Miss Nayara Goncalves, 20, who was the attendant facing her assailant who was armed with a gun did not panicked but told the man calmly that God had better plans for him. Not only did she convince him out of his crooked idea, she even made the robber promise that he would go back to church and turn his life around.
You might think this is a fluke or that the shop attendant was "nuts" or the whole thing was an act, but say what you like of this, I will not have a doubt that God has a hand here and it took the faith on the shop attendant's part as well.
Are you inspired already? Do you have anything to share or praise Him on this beautiful Sunday?

That is a truly beautiful story. It is great that the lady was able to convince her assilant that he didn't need to be robbing her. I was brought up in a family that although we weren't really super religious, we were full of faith and we did believe that our faith was one of the things that was able to keep us all together. We lost our father at a young age and while that would crush a lot of people, our family was able to find solace in the fact that our father had gone to heaven and that is where we all aspire to go after our life in this world has come to an end.

dorannmwin,
It is always heartwarming to see such a happy ending to what might have been a tragic outcome.
I am glad that no one was harm or hurt from this incident and most of all the armed robber did not carry out his crime. It would have been the end of his future had he carry the act to the full extent.
So, praise be to God for His intervention here.

I was thinking about this verse yesterday for some reason. I was thinking of it because as you know we are trying to buy a home. I feel at times that it seems impossible because the market is climbing where we live. I keep telling my family if it's God's will, then for some reason I thought "Don't I have faith in God that if it's meant to be and I truly believe then ..." this verse came to mind. Yesterday when my husband came home we talked and he didn't say much but last night we prayed about the whole thing. I liked to hear him say to God "Lord if it is meant to be you will open the doors for the right home and if it's not we will be happy where we are..." My daughter asked God to heal my knee because it's been hurting lately.
Anyhow faith is the key issue. I read a court case where a man broke into a home to assault the resident. Well she begged the man not to kill her but if God meant for her to go home then she asked for forgiveness for him and her. The man went crazy hearing this and broke several parts of her body, went out of the room to bang on things but somewhere along this time she had just enough time to escape. The victim during trial had suffered alot of injuries that needed therapy to get back to normal but she got out. The man was also being charged for torture which he argued he didn't want to torture her, but the jury found him guilty. He had enough time to reconsider what he was doing while she spoke to him about God. It was a miracle she made it out.
Last night I was debating whether to go to church today since I am not feeling good but my oldest son told me he wanted to go to church today. I thought who am I to say no, just like the woman who was suffering from bleeding and just wanted to touch Jesus' cloak because she knew she'd feel better I thought even though I don't feel good I just need to hear his word and touch his cloak as well. Thank you this confirms that I have alot to give praise to God for.

PDBME2,
Remember what the Bible says about leaning to God when you are faced with challenging times and perplexing situations. Draw unto Him and He will draw near to you.
I cannot ever remember God turning His back on us, especially when we are so down and depressed. I can understand what you are going through and I am glad to read that you have not left Him out of your mind or sight - which is all too easy for us. So, be persistent and when the going is tough draw more towards the Lord and you shall be assured of the light at the end of the tunnel.
Take care and God bless.
