Dear mylotters, It is said that with the trend that facebook and other social networks are taking, people will soon be stop sending emails. The same was said for fax when emails were started to be used, yet fax services are still widely used. So what do you think and what are your new habits now? HAve you realy stop emailing? Will emailing die?

No it won't I don't really go on facebook a lot maybe once or twice a month whereas I am pushing email into my mobile phone several times a day because I need to check my mylot comments and responses :P By the I'm still a bit of a noob around here only been here for a week, does anyone know any other way to be notified of responses apart from being emailed because it's quite annoying that I keep checking my emails for responses, excuse me for my ignorance.

Oh can I add facebook and email work together, you need email to confirm your account, be alerted of new comments etc.

I do think that Facebook will severely hurt E-Mails but they will not completely kill them. All things considered, for as many people who seem to be on Facebook, there are many more who want absolutely nothing to do with it and only are on it grudgingly, because its the in thing right now. I think that Facebook many times is more informal, where E-Mails could be more serious. I do think that personal e-mail commuciation will be severely crippled by Facebook however but it will not be completely killed. I still e-mail a lot of the time, in fact most of the time. I only use Facebook sparingly. It is just like print media, it is something that is still around, but deemphsized. Facebook will cause E-Mails to be less common but there will always be a place with it to an extent.

Not at all cz not all email users have accounts on facebook ,myspace and other social networks.. And besides when sending business emails it's not appropriate to send it to your boss facebook account.
