Many people suffer this condition, probably more than people realise, and it can be very damaging to your energy and motivation levels. Having dealt with it for more than 6 years myself I can tell you it's no easy condition. Sometimes sleep is easy, other times i'm awake every couple of hours, or even every hour some nights, Or i'll sleep a while then get up for a couple of hours then sleep a little more. Rarely do I get any sleep before 4 in the morning, I also deal with migraines which are most likely partly due to the insomnia. In way of discussion write about your experience with the condition, or your thoughts on the condition in general

I have trouble sleeping on occasion. It was really bad 6 months ago when school was getting particularly stressful. My doctor put me on a sleeping aid for awhile. I'd gone several nights without sleep, and not for lack of trying! Once I was awake for almost 48 hours.
It's gotten better now and I'm off the sleeping aid. I had to make some lifestyle changes though. I exercise more during the day, and I have an established bedtime routine.

I have trouble sleeping at night - I know its not insomnia, Its just because I like to stay up really late. I ussauly stay up to three or four in the moring or won't go to sleep at all. One of my friends told me that by stressing my body like that constantly and staying up for 36 hours at a time that I can acctually give myself insomnia. Is that true?
