my mums moving closer to me and the kids, she hasn't lived near us for 10 years, although she does'nt live that far away, only 75 miles, but because of my illness i can't drive that far so don't see her much, she is also ill,but when she moves it'll only be 10 miles up the road,so i'll be round there every week for dinner and possibly sometimes after kids come home from school,i can't wait, and the kids will love it aswell

You are truly blessed as not too many family members care that deeply to up route their lives to assist someone in need.
I wish you lots of joy during your visits.

Hi doormouse,
I am truly envious. My family is about twelve hundred miles away from me and I can't stand being that far away. Unfortunately the state in which they live in is very expensive. So, I live in a less expensive state and I travel to see them once or twice a year.
Not all children want their parents living close to them. I think it is great how excited you and your children are to have your mother moving closer. It will be a good thing for all of you, since you both are having some illness. Family is so important, even more so will you become ill and need them around just in case things got worse, which I pray they don't.
Enjoy those dinners and grandkids spending more time at grandma's house.

There is something that is truly wonderful about being near your parents. My mother only lives six and a half miles away from us and because of that we are able to visit her on a regular basis. I think we are at her house at least one time each weekend and frequently at least one day during the week as well. She and I have always been very close and I think that the closeness between the two of us is going to continue throughout our lives.

Well, that is good doormouse, you will have more bonding moments with each other and what more you will be able to help each other. Besides, the kids would always love to be with their granny. I am sure you mum will be very happy with her decision of moving near you. Senior citizens usually needs somebody to talk to and someone to be called whenever they are lonely and needs companion.

her a lot more often and know how she is, not worry so much about
her either. Ten miles is great, wish no come to think about itmy

Hi there doormouse
Aww I am really happy for you. I live a two hours drive from my own mum and get to see her on average every 6 weeks or so. It would be nice if we lived closer to each other and I now my kids would love it too, they love their nan.
