does anyone use clickbank and work for them as an affiliate?

I was wondering, cause I tried it not long ago and I like it, but I find it very, very hard to promote their products, I mean to get sales, you know, for people actually buying the product where you get a half comission from them usually. And I was thinking if you're working for them too, where do you get your costumers? people that make you sales? do you use paid advertising, if so which ones? also, what other things do you use? friends, social neworks..etc.? please write more about it.
