Hi deve,
Washing face is something that is not possible all the time. Though drinking lots of water does help, but the oil will still come back. Use tissue papers whenever possible to wipe out that extra unwanted oil especially from the sidelines of the nose and where ever you feel you are uncomfortable with. This can be done easily anywhere and doesn't need special arrangements.
If your boyfriend is not allergic, he can also try using special soaps that have - "For Oily Skin" tag. This helps in keeping away the oil for longer time.
I too have oily skin and the constant medication for my Colitis (steroids and others) have made my skin more oily than before.

Hi deve,
Yup the pimples (they are called acne here) come up more when the skin is oily. reason is that the pores of the skin get sealed off due to the excess oil secretion and this is why I mentioned frequent use of tissues to remove that excessive oil. Though it keep the pimples away, yet they would be less in number. Also to avoid pimples, your boyfriend should eat light food - not oily and not spicy and drink at least 2-3 ltrs of water every day.
Also try avoiding those oily creams on the face!
Hope this helps
Take Care

I have oily skin and i've tried everything under the sun to fix it. I have found that a mud or clay mask works well. It only needs to be applied once a week and they are available from any chemist.
As puccagirl said, applying oil to the skin actually reduces the amount of oil produced. Strange hey? What I have learnt is that if the skin is too dry, for example from washing it with a harsh cleanser too often, the skin will produce an overload of oil to make up for it.
Apricot oil, almond kernel oil and jojoba oil are all good for reducing oiliness.
Make sure he uses very warm water when washing his face so as to dissolve the oil.
I have also read that snapping a piece of iceberg lettuce and rubbing it over your face is great for oily skin as is cucumber pulp- blend up some cucumber and spread the pulp over the face and leave on for 20 minutes.
Urban Decay also has a product that mattifies the skin. It's meant to be put under make up but your boyfriend may want to apply it before he goes out.

The only suggestion that I can give to remove oily skin is firstly tell him to drink water as more as possible because it help us to keep our skin fear and reduces oil.Secondly wash your face whenever you feel its becoming oily.Lastly tell him to avoid eating oily things or you can have less oil food.

oh thank you for this tips...with regards to water intake...he is always drinking water excessively... but he does not wash his face regularly..at times.., he tends to forget washing before sleeping because he's too exhausted to do so.. and yes.., he loves to eat oily foods... that's probably the main reason why he's face is soo oily..i'll tell him to minimize his intake of these fried foods...Good day@!
