Last evening I went to an Arts and Cultural Extravaganza put on my the Rotary as part of the Rotary Festival. An Island Arts group hand painted the chairs and donated them to the Rotary for the auction. All proceeds went back to the Art Gallery to help them purchase a new ramp for the gallery . It was a lot of fun to watch and a considerable amount of money was raised, a couple of the chairs went for over $300.00

I also took a video of the auctioneer,he did an excellent job. It was neat because not so long ago he almost died of heart attack. It was good to see him active again .

I love Rotary! Have been in Rotary for about 15 year. One of the clubs I belonged to made funnel cakes. We had a 15 foot trailer with the deep fryers and so forth. We particiapted in about ten festivals over the summer and raised about 20,000 overall.
The Rotary Club I am with now does a Bike Tour. Not as much fun for me, but it is a good fundraiser, we brought in about 10,000 this year.
I just wish more club members would help!
What are some of your club prjects? My current club supports on orphanage and we bought a mobile mammography truck. We also provide three Christmas gifts for about 500 families. My previous club had a medical equipment loan program and supported our local library and various recreational events around town.
