It is important to protect your computer from the nastiness that is out there. However, what is your main weapon of attack? I have Norton Anti-Virus software. I used to have McAfee, but the price was getting too high and Norton comes free with my Internet service provider. I really cannot beat that. Plus, it works rather well and smoothly runs in the background. What is your anti-virus software? Looking forward to reading your responses.

hello. if you have a genuine version of windows 7 running on your computer, I recommend you Micosoft Security Essentials. Have to check if it works on Vista as well. It is complete, free and efficient. Updates are available almost every day. So, there is very little risk of getting your computer infected. Do not pay for what you can get free legally. I am using it and fully satisfied.

no doubt norton is the best...but in the mean time it slows the computer..if ur computer have memory less than 1gb..then norton does not work properly..
i am using kaspersky and it is the best
during the startup of the system...it slows
the system..but later on it works fine..

I do not think so.
Currently, the latest version of Norton is quite powerful and occupy very little memory. I have used it and see no problem here.
Kapersky is a powerful software, but I found it very cumbersome and not very excited about it. When I buy a computer, I was presented with a license Kapersky year, but I soon removed it because it locked up all my EXE files ....

I think any type of anti-virus software might be problemsome depending on the computer. Like, McAfee worked awkwardly on my computer but for other people, it worked as well as it could be expected. It really just depends. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

AVG is my software;) Because it comes free of course, I don't have spare money to waste on computer's program...
Moreover my Inter service provider not offering me anything except them own anti virus, which is coming with extra paying- In short words: no thanks.
I will probably look later for some normal antivirus when I will have the time.

I have different antivirus software on different computer. One of my computers uses AVG. Another has Malwarebites and Kasperski, and the other Windows computer just has Kasperski. I don't have antivirus software on my mac. I don't think there is any unless it's built in. But that's OK because there really aren't many viruses programed for mac computers.

Yes, I think that in many ways, Mac users really fly under the radars of those who program viruses. After all, most of the main networks are on PC, and that's where they can cause the most damage. So Mac and even Linux really gets underlooked, which actually is a point towards them in many ways. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I am using Norton on this computer. On the other computer I have in my office, I have been using Webroot. They are both very good, functioning very well in keeping protected, and cleaning the computers of viruses. Yes, indeed, one needs to have these programs to have the systems protected.
