For me i am really not fond of using food supplements because i just eat natural healthy foods. I am not a user of synthetic medicine or food supplements because it can always block the urinary tract system just like stones in the near future after prolonged usage of those products. I still believe that the nutrients are still in the natural foods that we eat. this should be done with moderation when eating. I always think that our ancestors lived up to 90 - 110 years old of life span and they are not taking any food supplements at all. It will also be added expense to your budget. But it is still really up to you if you would still continue to take those. I just shared my own point of view.

I think food supplements can be quite helpful if you take the right kind. It's almost impossible to get enough nutrients in our food any more because petroleum and chemical based fertilizers don't replace what crops take out of the soil and a vegetable or fruit is only as healthy as the soil it's grown in. Tests have proven that our food (other than organic food) is lower in nutrients than it was a century ago. The human body needs those nutrients, so sometimes food supplements is the only way to get them.

There are different things which are being promoted as food supplements. One thing I have been taking once in a while is "Ensure". It comes in small bottles and cans, shall we say enough for one time. It come in different tastes too, quite tasty. I drink Ensure on days when skip lunch or dinner, making it the food supplement for that time. I like it, and I find it energizing.

By definition the word supplement means "something added to complete a thing, supply a deficiency, or reinforce or extend a whole." Taking natural supplements to enhance healthy living is quite helpful. On the other hand, if one uses a supplement thinking it alone will make them healthy, that just won't work. For example, I a person doesn't eat breakfast but rather drinks a supplement shake followed by fast food for lunch and dinner, well that just doesn't work. IF that same person had that shake for breakfast followed by two nourishing, healthy meals the supplement would be fine. Additionally, supplements added to a balanced diet can enhance endurance, stamina, and over all well being. In summary, supplements from reputable companies such as EAS for example can be helpful.
