Do you have a stockpile of books that you still need to read?

I have quite a few books that I have not started to read yet. I received several books for my birthday and while I have read a couple of them, I have not gotten to all of them. Do you find that you get a few books that have put off to the side, intending to read them, but right now they are collecting dust because you're currently reading something like that? Looking forward to reading your responses.

I always have books lined up to read. I cannot read one book at a time and usually have at least two going at any given time. I'm a self-proclaimed book junkie and go to The Salvation Army to buy 5 books for $5 usually twice a month. I generally have one book that I can read quickly (right now that is "The Automatic Millionaire") and one that I read slowly (Right now that is "The Sacred Romance"). I probably have about a dozen ready for reading...and I've got a few that I'm keeping my eyes open for that could move to the top of the line.

I've tried to read multiple books at once, but a lot of the time, its hard to keep things straight. But if it is something you can do, it really speeds up the process. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

No, I have quite the opposite problem. I always finish books way too soon, and then I don't have anything to read, and have to go get new stuff. I simply like reading way too much I guess!

Yes, it is always nice to have some spare reading material on hand. Even if it is going to be a while before you actually get around to reading them. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I usually finish my books too fast as well. Now I make it a point to visit the book store every other weekend and get a book or two, even if I don't need them. If I have extras then I never run out. I always have a few books at one end of the shelf that I want to read eventually. If I get something I want to read more, great. If I don't find anything better it's okay because I have a few that I know would take up some of my time and I would still enjoy them even if they aren't at the top of my list.

I know what you are saying. I also have a lot of books at home that I have not read yet. I think I have 8 unread books. First is because I don't have the time to read my novels. Second is because I cannot help but buy new books whenever I am in the mall. Plus, some people gave me books as a birthday gift recently.

Yes, it does add up in those ways. Time tends to be something that is hard to come along. Even if we try to make the time, life can tend to be frustrating. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yeah, I have a lot of books that is waiting to be read, and I have a couple of books which I have read but stopped somewhere in the middle. Hehehe. I am really looking forward to my next vacation so I would have time to go through my reading list and finish the books that I have been intending to finish for the longest time.

Oh, I am looking forward to when I have some time off too. That way, I can get some reading done. Right now, I only have about an hour to read at night, maybe a bit more depending on the night, but sometimes less. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi,
Actually, yes. I have several books to read. I believe in reading one subject matter at a time. Currently I am studying folklore and fairy tales. So I had to postpone reading a few books on contemporary literature, reverse engineering, education and philosophy. One of my friends has asked me to read a few books he had. They are all fairy tales from Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Anderson. I have several ebooks to read as well. I really don't know how to accomplish such a mammoth task. Thanks.
God bless you.

I think the only way to accomplish it is one book at a time. Really, that is truly the only way. Its going to be a lot of time most of the time. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

There are times where reading does seem to not be as appealing as it normally is. Such is life, but I get back to reading after a bit normally. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I have quite a few books on my book shelf right now that still need to be read. I have a habit of purchasing books on sale or when I have coupons, so I get them too fast and can't read them all and keep up! I'm ok with it being that way though because that means I'm always getting a good deal on books. :-)

Hi,
I am not a book worm and I seldom read those novel and books.
The most I will read is magazine ,online news and newspaper.
I also never read them everyday,Only when I have some free time, then
I will have a flip on them.
I used to read Female and Her World Magazine and all those old
magazines I throw away as they are too many and I have no place to
store them.
After I have kid, I prefer to read those parenting magazine. I even
subscribe to one of the parenting magazine.

Yeah books are something that are not for everyone. Either you're into them or you're not really. Especially once you are out of school. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yes, but at least that's one less book that you have to start. At least you're more likely to finish that book now that you've started it. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

It is same to me. I really have bought many books at home but not enough time to read them one by one. Now I prefer to put them in different place like dining room, bedroom and try to collect some little rest time to read them. Page by page, I think if I did not forget them in the dust, I will finish them some day.
Enjoy the fun in reading.

Someday they will be finished. Of course, it is kind of hard to tell what day that will be. You never really know how long it will take before you finish reading all of those books. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I do! There was a book sale one time, and I picked up a lot of books. Unfortunately, I have yet to read the others (I've read only one). Thing is, I can see some book sale signs again, and I'm tempted to buy another hoardful. Sigh, so many books to read, so little time. And there's my E-books, too. But, at least I can read them in between breaks.

I got a pile of old romance novels from a friend, but I don't really know if they are worth spending time on. And I always read good bboks several times, so all the books on my shelves are kind of waiting for me to read or re-read them.
I started on "life of Pi" a long time ago, but I haven't gotten longer than to page 21. That is nagging me a bit.

Yeah, books that barely get any movement for what ever reason tends to frustrate me. I wonder if I'm ever going to finish and move on. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I do have quite a few books that I still have to read. I haven't really had the time to read them yet. However, I do plan on reading them. I hope that I'll be able to read them really soon. But we'll have to wait and see whether or not I'll be able to.

I have a "to-read" shelf on my bookshelf. Usually it only has around three or four books on it. But ever since last summer its had around 20 and the number never seems to shrink (Despite the phenomenal rate at which I'm reading these books.) I've done way too much book-shopping over the last few months methinks.
I'm hoping to finish them all within a month so I can read the last hunger games book when it comes out.

Yeah that tends to be the problem. The stack does decrease but it also increases when we get more. So the stack never does seem to budge, even if it is but we are just replacing the books. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yep! I have my own personal stack presently! I have two books I am about to finish. My friend brought three by the other day and a friend sent me two in the mail. Then of course there are the two or three I just purchased on line too! I have quite a stack that really needs to be read!!

Yes I have one that I was meant to read over the summer holidays but haven't got round to doing it as I've been putting it off but now that you mention it I will get it from my shelf. It's been sitting there since March as well lol... It's not dusty though I have it covered in a small bag. It's called A Thousand Splendid Suns.

I always have books that I intend to read, but something better always comes along. I receive books for my birthday and Christmas that I know I will get to someday, but today is not the day. Friends and family are always rcommending books, so when I check those ones out and never seem to get to the ones I already have. I really need to get better at that and just read the ones I already have first.

So many good books, so little time. I think the books I have combined with the books that I might want to check out might lead to a rather sizeable list. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
