I was wondering if we could actually control what happens in our dreams, or project a thought into a dream, in this way we could all have a good night sleep...

Yeah it's called a Lucid dream, it's where you are aware that you are dreaming and so you can control what you do and see in your dream to an extent. I've had one of them recently they are really weird. You should research online about them to learn how to make it more likely to achieve one. It's fun but you have to be patient.

I can have some control over what happens in a dream, but one of my mates has brought this book, which tells you how you can properly control what happens in your dream. He said you have to make a special routine, and you have to do something every time before you go to sleep. So for example, you could water a certain plant or something like that. Then you have to think hard about whatever it is you want to dream about. Its also important to get loads of sleep as well to make it work properly.

What's the title of the book? That sounds interesting. The only things that i carry through my sleep are basic thoughts, and as the dream progresses, i can no longer have control over the events, it keeps on jumping from one event to another... Sometimes, I can't even escape and develops into a nightmare!

Whether we accept it or not our lives are controlled by our dreams. But ultimately we are in command because through "Will Power" we can control, our dreams.
One of the most important gifts we were given as Human-Beings, is...Free Will. Free will is powered by Will Power. The power to control our behavior and actions.
By tapping into our Will Power we can control more than just our conscious environment we can control our dreams.
Great topic! Have a sweet dream my friend :)
