I love to cook. And I specially love to have Thai food. But I Belong to a small town in Asia and we dont get all the ingredients out here. I dont even know what kind of lime is khaffir lime, what kind of lemon grass is used? Can anyone kindly help me out? And also help me with substitutes in case we dont get the main ingredients that are usually used in Thai food.

Hi tbmomin,
I eat Thai food everyday :)
I don't know what part in Asia you are so it's hard to know what is available in your area. But in case you don't know, there are pre-mixed packages for Thai food that you can buy from grocery stores. Knorr has Tom Yum cubes. You can boil meat and vegestables and then add the cubes, you now have a Tom Yum soup. Try checking the shop that has more imported goods, for sure they have those.
If you don't know your ingredients, you can search the web here and check the picture too so you know what you want to buy.
Hope this helps!

Thanks dear. Im from a small northeastern town of India. Im sure most of the things are available in our area but I just dont know them. We dont even get premixed packages in our town and we have to go all the way to the state capital to get it..hehe. Anyway we get knorr products, so I think Ill try searching for Tom Yum cubes from our grocery stores . And I'll Also search the web. Thank You very much!!!
