Snoring annoys you. What if your partner snores in sleep what should you do?

I am happy nobody in my family snores. As a kid I used to find it very funny to watch my grandparents snoring on the couch but I guess with age it becomes annoying. My husband doesn't snore so we are ok but if he did I would go see someone who could help prevent it.

my mom snores really loud and whenever I visit her at the province we tend to share rooms together. it's annoying when you really can't sleep due to the sound, but sometimes.. no, most of the time I sleep first so that she wont bother me. Usually when she sleep ahead of me I find it difficult to sleep because of her snoring, but I don't nag her or anything just to make her stop because I pity her and it unconsciously done and the fact that she is my mother! lol!

There is no need in getting annoy over this issue Niairen01. She is your mum as you pointed it out. Ask her to go for medical check-up. Untreated Sleep apnoea konwn as snoring may increase the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack and strokes. It can also cause other serious health problems such as: decreased memory, fatigue, daylight sleepiness. I know all these because my brother is at the moment having treatment due to snoring.

hi skmak! ^.^ First of all, I do think that sleeping with someone who's overly loud snore can really annoy you specially if you're not getting any sleep because of it. so whether or not someone who's snoring is your relative or close friend, it's still annoying. have you tried sleeping with a snoring person before? I respect my mom and that is why I made it a point to sleep ahead of her so I won't get those sleepless nights with her. Second, I'm aware of the diseases that might cause the snoring, she has this heart condition that's why I don't NAG her to shut up. ^.^

My husband snores loudly. When we just got married, I found his snores were very annoying. However, as time goes by I already get used to it. I may not fall asleep soon without his snores:) I love China

Hi youless, I do snore pretty hard with a matching high and low notes according to my wife, but I wonder how did she manage to sleep while I'm busy having a live concert while sleeping. How about you? what measures did you come up?

A noisy breathing through the mouth and nose during sleep. As common as snoring is,it is no joke. It may be seen as an inconvenience to bed partners and other occupants of the household,in actual fact, snoring can be a sign of more sinister health problems. I would urge people that snores to quickly go for a medical check up before it's too late.

It depends on the degree to which they snore. I have been with someone that snored really, really loud and occasionally stopped breathing and such. It's SO difficult to be with a partner like that. I spent more time on the couch than anywhere else. I would encourage a person like that to seek testing for sleep apnea or physical issues that are contributing to the snoring (such as a deviated septum). A bad snoring problem can be indicative of other health problems and risks so it's worth being checked by a doctor.

A friend of mine came up with a wonderful solution that has saved her relationship. Breath Rite Strips. They are a simple flexi strip that has adhesive. It's like a little band-aid for your nose. He puts them on and his snoring is reduced to a little loud breathing. I have heard him snore and the difference is remarkable.

I sometimes snore, but what really annoys me is when my wife wakes me up to tell me I'm snoring and then asks me to sleep on my side, that really disturb's my sleep.

yes, I find it really annoying. My ex snored and I had to constantly nudge her to shut her up! ha! For some people, it can be extreme and people have even resorted to surgical procdeures to stop them from snoring so loudly. Some people in my family snore too and I can hear them from downstairs sometimes.
