Frameless Flat Screens?

I read somewhere that some companies are going to start making frameless flat screen tvs. Would you buy one? I think the concept would look great. It would just seem like the movie or anything you are watching is just floating right there on your wall in high definition! I'm sure since there won't be a frame you will have to buy speakers or hook it up to your surround sound, which is not that bad, but not everyone has surround sound and not everyone wants to buy extra speakers, but if they included them in the package then very cool. What do you think? They are constantly coming out with new flat screens all the time and by the time someone can afford the old model there is already something new and improved coming out. If you are thinking about buying a flat screen would you still buy one now or would you just wait until these frameless ones come out?

We have a 42" rear projection screen. We would not replace it now, but it will be something that we will consider when the time comes. I am all for new technology but will not waste what I have in order to get it.
A lot of companies issue their'latest product' not long after their previous new idea once their latest product has hit maximum sales. In other words, they have the superior product available before launching their older items.

I think, I've got one of this frameless LCD already and the product is of good quality. I'll not need any again for now. However, for my friends out there who might be looking forward to buying one or more LCD's someday...my advice to you all is to make necessary enquiry about what you really want and can afford.
Research your products very well and weighs their pros and cons before making a purchase decison because shopping for a new TV can be an overwhelming experience. Coffusion plagues even the most careful shoppers, and TV manufacturers, marketers and vendors often create more uncertainty, as they push extra features, new technologies, and add-ons in the incessantpursuit of profit.
Check for TV buying guide before making your final decision.

I always think it is better to wait for everyone else to buy them so you can get the reviews on them. Some people don't start having problems with it until 1-2 years (which for these types of expensive products is bad for it to already be breaking) so they can give out review and the companies can improve and fix those problems in the models and send out the new ones for sale.

it is cool! i would love too but that's the mere facts of getting upgraded every now and then because even you want to change it for a new one then something more upgraded will come out it is so sad that you did not much enjoy the new one you just bought yet there is one more on the line coming up better than the one you had.silly frameless flat screens tvs. well technology is really getting something and the minds behind it, is really free occupied of new ideas.hayyyysssss!

That's very interesting. Maybe I'll buy one if I have money enough for the price. Looks like its gonna be expensive.

It probably will be expensive. Even though they are actually taking something OFF of the tv they are going to charge you more to do it. lol

Cool I didn't know about this. I can imagine they're going to look really nice although even if they come out we won't get them straight away as they'll probably cost a lot of money at first.

Yeah, I am sure the cost will go down a year after they are out. I usually wait a year (sometimes more if I can't afford it) to get something. I did not have an ipod for the longest time, which was fine because by the time I could afford it I got a great 80gb video ipod, very durable lol Its great.

I probably wouldn't buy one any time soon since I don't have a flat screen or HD or any really recent TV technology. I did see a news article that Corning Glass Company invented a very hard, practically scratch free glass that is also thinner than other glasses that aren't so hard, etc. They invented it almost 50 years(1962) ago but only recently has there been much use for it in things like the screens of cell phones, etc. It is ideally suited for the frameless flat screen TV that you are talking about and they are projecting a huge market for it even though it will be expensive.

I have a flat screen with a frame. I have no reason to get another one but if I did and the frameless ones looked like they were sturdy and safe I would probably get one. I really didn't think I would get this one I have now so who really knows what I am going to do next! You never know.

Yes, I would buy a new frameless flat screen. However, the price
tag would probably be out of my budget.
If the quality and color is nice, then I could save for the
purchase.
The problem with new and modern things is that they are too
expensive.
For example, the new electric chevy volt is in production.
I heard that the cost is about $41,000. With a $7,5000
deduction for going green (yay) that's about $33,500.
I hope that the price drops to $25,000 lol.
