Do you think we're the only ones in the solar system?

I've always thought it would be arrogant of us to believe we are the only thing God created. I mean if you had a sand castle and this bad kid keep coming and kicking it over, would'nt you move it? Would'nt restict their access to preserve the integrity of your castle? I think He got tired of our crap. After countless warnings, He just decided to rebuild elsewhere. I believe He loves us like you would an unruly pet. Too much to put it down, but just enough to fed it and nurture it. I believe this other society is smarter and has visited us on many occassions but they are intelligent enough to just observe. I beleive He will let us burn our planet out and those who are left will go to The Second Earth. Paradise. What do you think? Share your theories on extraterrestrials and God. The end of it all or just the beginning. Talk it up folks!

I think it's pretty certain that we are the only intelligent life in the Solar System, but there are good chances that there is at least microbial life somewhere like Mars or the moons of Jupiter and Saturn such as Titan and Europa.
But whether there's intelligent life beyond our solar system is another question. The mathematics imply that there must be other civilizations out there. After all, our own Milky Way galaxy is about 100,000 light years across and so far, within only 50 light years of us we have discovered over 400 other planets around other stars. We are still searching for Earth-like planets and have found none yet, but this is only because we don't have the technology yet to find such small, rocky planets like Earth. Most of the exoplanets we've found are gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn.
But the recently launched Kepler Space Telescope, we should be able to find Earth-like planets very soon. And then all bets are off!
I do agree that thinking that we are the only sentient beings in the universe is quite egotistic. But whether we will ever make contact with other intelligent life is a question that may never be answered. The distances between stars makes traveling among them very difficult. Even at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second), it would take us 4 years just to reach the nearest star.
If extraterrestrials have visited Earth, I have seen no hard evidence of it. UFO sightings are sightings of UNidentified flying objects. They are unidentified, not necessarily alien spacecraft. And of course crop circles as alien creations has been debunked many times. But you never know what the future will bring!

Er, most people today agree that there are two forms of intelligent life currently inhabiting the solar system - humans and dolphins. We are definitely not the only intelligent life in the solar system, but we're definitely the ones with the biggest superiority complex.

Well, if you're going to add dolphins, then you should also include chimpanzees and African Grey parrots. Alex, the famous parrot, proved he could not only speak but understand various parts of speech. He also demonstrated his concept of numbers including the concept of zero or none, which is something that even humans did not conceive until less than 2000 years ago!
In any case, your point is well taken. Humans do seem to think that they alone are the pinnacle of evolution! :-)

Chimpanzees and parrots don't meet all the requirements for what we consider intelligent life. I believe all animals are sentient (and am therefore vegan) and I agree that many have the ability to learn, but that doesn't make them intelligent life forms because they aren't able to actively think. Dolphins, on the other hand, are self-aware, which is a necessity for an intelligent life form. They also show empathy, can interpret symbolic languages, can perform detailed problem-solving, and form complex societies.

No. They just find out that because of a Venus moon's atmosphere there might be life in there. Fossils may exist in Mars. I think it's impossible to have life in one single planet while we have so many neighbours, they are not in there just because they are beautiful. There's a reason for everything in the Universe.

i think there exist aliens in solar system.. no one can say we are teh only onee living in this solar system thoug there are no strong evidence.. strong evidence in the sense no alien came to us and talked with us in the tv or somewhere right? however when we start traveling to other planets fast enogh we will get the chance to find some sort of alien and i m sure about that..

We know enough abut our solor system to know that any other life forms that are here would be very different from us. There are no other earth like planets here.
But further away I cdon't see how there can help bu be others. If and how they visit us has yet to be discovered, but I am sure there are many more advanced life forms than us.

I definitely think intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe, but not the solar system (aside from our fellow dolphins here on earth). Of course I doubt that humankind will ever come into contact with an alien species. I also do not attribute life on any planet to a god, and I think that life forms on other planets actually destroy the notions of many religions.

This question has interested people for millennia. Now though, while we cannot confirm the presence of life on other planets in the Solar System, we do have a good idea of which places in the Solar System could support life and what that life may be like if it is there.Secrets that life scientists will be interested to investigate further.
