Deaf or Blind?

I'd rather lose my hearing than my sight because at least with deafness I can cope a bit by learning sign language and getting used to lip reading. Sight is really important for me because I think it's the most important thing we need to survive, I am more likely to survive with my sight although it helps to have all senses. I want to know where I am and where I'm going I don't want to bang into things in the way even with a stick I think it must be a scary thing to walk without seeing anything. Also I think deaf people are more independent whereas blind people need to be with someone for most the time.

Hi, It would have to be my hearing.. I have a deaf child, born deaf. Watching him prosper and doing daily everyday activities is no more or less for me. He was able to have a cochlear implant surgercily implanted. He has the best of both worlds, if he wants to hear things, he puts on the implant, if not it goes off. His vision is the tops. He can see like a cat at night. I wish I could see like that. Without vision your not able to have the freedom in driving. Good question by the way! :-)

I think I would rather be deaf. I would love to hear my loved one's voices and music. But I want to be able to see colors and see my loved ones and I'm an artist, I want to be able to see my work and be able to create art side by side with my boyfriend. So yeah, I would rather lose my hearing, even though either loss are equally great.

L would prefer to lose my hearing than my sight because I need sight to look this beautiful world,human being and especially I want to know were I am staying and going.Its impossible for me to survive without eyes sight,I cant walk without eyes even using sticks also.

Hands down, I would prefer to lose my hearing. I cannot imagine not being able to see the beautiful things around me. I think you can assimilate better in out society with hearing loss rather than vision, too.
