Why do some myLot users...??

I have ran across a few irritating myLot users here... and I wonder why they even happen to bump into someone like me. I am a pretty even-tempered, open-minded individual, but I find that there are more stupid people than intelligent people lol.
For example, some users don't even read your post, they just read the topic and start typing immediately from there. Then they are all off subject offending others that have posted and messing up the flow of the discussion.
Then, there are those who are strongly against you and decide to scold or threaten and debate rather than discuss. Those people have the right to share their opinions true enough, but I feel like that if we are all adults here, we can still be cordial and respectful to each other.
Furthermore, there are just as many other users whom just disrespect you for no reason that is in no relation to the post whatsoever. I just wonder where these type of people get the time.
There is not even enough hours in the day...

You are very right with what you said but i guess, we just can't please everybody. I also think that there are people who feel so self-righteous that they have to reprimand anybody who go against their own set of beliefs.
I've seen a discussion posted here a few weeks ago complaining about the same thing. Although, i was never bad-mouthed yet in mylot, I have experienced in life people who without them knowing force me to accept their opinions either than ending up in a heated argument. I wouldn't want myself to be involve in such a useless conversation that I'd rather disapprovingly agree and just leave.
Keep your calm. Throw their uncivilized responses to the wind and continue enjoying life. Who knows? They might be unhappy people venting their hatred for the world on unknowing happy people on mylot. Well, i honestly hope not. But just in case, we'd rather not be a part of that, right?

That takes a strong person. You seem so much calmer than I am about situations like this... because inwardly I want to punch the person in the face and shake them until they realize that debating is just that.... debating. It is not meant to be taken personally to the point of disrespecting the other party. I hope that I can be as strong as that someday.... I am getting there slowly!!

MyLot is a slice of life and no different from offline. After all, we are all offline and typing online. Therefore it stands to reason that there are all sorts on here don't you think?.
Some of us are aìways good, some of us are always bad and some have off days too both when we type and come across as heated and when we read and misunderstand what is written.
Bite your fingers before typing back and move on if something upsets you but most of all, have FUN!

On the contrary, I have a lot of intriguing and very intelligent people with whom I love to share my ideas... I just run across some who are not too friendly or express themselves... as I would say... in.. "different" ways!! lol
I can say that for the most part, I agree with you.

Wonderful!! That really should've been the initial response. I applaud you for being respectful. I doubt sweet chili sauce would make me change my view, but.. nice insight. And no need for an offer, I am already at peace. Thanks, anyway.

I get on well regardless lol. It is just a blogging site, so there's no offense whatsoever taken. You are entitled to your opinion just as I am to mine. I can assure you that no sleep will be lost on my part. :)

I think that the reason that we run into people like that during the time that we are spending on mylot is because of the fact that there are a lot of people that are here for one reason and for one reason only. That reason is that there are a lot of people that are here for the sole purpose of making money. It is these people that don't take the time to read discussions and to add something meaningful to a discussion.

I agree with you. I understand that it is nice to receive a payout for sharing ideas but some people tend to take advantage or bring a certain degree of ignorance to the conversation that isn't necessary, etc. But I am here because I enjoy being here. I'm not even here everyday.. but I definitely let my presence be known!!

Well not all mylot users are like that I always read a post because then I know what to type and I want to read of it to make sure that I can answer them to the best of my knowledge. Everyone has their opinions and has the right to share them I never did like disputes or arguing because it never really helps. It's better just to be nice and get along with everybody that's how I feel at least.

I couldn't agree more. A commonplace where people can share ideals, views and perspectives in a respectful way just almost sounds too perfect. Luckily, I won't let just a crazy remark or insulting phrase deter me from myLot!!

But yea, I see what your saying. I'm a pretty calm, relaxed, friendly person, and somehow there's been one or two people who really annoy me. I can't be sure if they're doing it on purpose, yet in a very subtle way so I can't report them

Yea, it kind of sucks from time to time. But, I guess that's life. Sometimes I forget that just because I'm online I can't escape the many stresses of life which includes dealing with difficult individuals, etc. the list could go on forever.

I try not to report people unless they are downright disrespectful, insulting and threatening because no one should be subject to that, whether face-to-face or online. I do, however, negatively or positively rate comments as I see fit.

it's just the way it is, like life there will always be an antagonist to spice up our life, just view them as varieties that makes life less boring, they may be a pain in then a_ but at the end of the day, when you let them control your life you will end up short-handed.

Yea, I can agree with you about the non-boring part. But I still think that a certain level of respect should be shown. Some people think that they can just say anything dependent upon their ethnicity, age, religion, occupation, political view, whatever.... and that is not the case. I have learned in my older age, though... that cussing people out isn't always the best thing to do... as it gets me all worked up and for what?? An idiot that I don't even know?? It's pointless.
So now I kill people with kindness. I let them know in a nice/nasty way that they are stepping in shark waters and better watch their step.

I think it is because some people are here only for the money. I am going to level with you completely, if there was no financial reward, i wouldn't be here, but if i am going to be here, the way i see it, i may as well enjoy my time here, and actually make posts that make sense. Sadly my ratings seem to suggest otherwise, no idea why its only 4 :/ have a feeling some people always negative you on this site if you just have a different opinon to them, or if you try and point out to them that what you are doing on the site doesn't comply with rules
