The repetitive tasks of everyday life

Do you get tired of doing the repetitive tasks of everyday life? Things like washing the dishes, even in a dishwasher in my case, then just getting them dirty again and having to wash them again. Doing laundry just to have to do it again when the clothes get dirty again. On and on and on, it never ends of course since these things are part of living but still it is bothersome to think about sometimes.

I can relate. I miss out school for this semester, and I'm virtually doing the same thing everyday here at home. I'm not the person who can stay put in one place doing repetitive tasks. I'm the the kind of person who wants to always be out, doing stuff, exploring places, etc. That's why I get frustrated with my everyday boring life here at home. I also find myself saying, 'What's the point? It'll get dirty anyway' whenever I do my clothes. There are times when I just want to explode.

Yes doing daily routine chores causes boredom. But is there a way out? We have a servant who does a lot of such household chores. Gosh! when she bunks, consider cleaning the utensils, cleaning the house etc., which, of course, is done by my daughter - it is tedious. My daughter skips some of the chores. Then a thought comes to my mind. How does the servant feel doing all those things everyday/ Kudos to her.

I can relate with this post. I'm really tired of doing routine task. I do almost the same thing every day and its a little bit boring and tiresome. Every morning, I cook for my child's breakfast, and send him to sleep again then do my chores, cleaning the house, do the laundry and taking care of my child for the rest of the day. Though I'm happy to take care for my child but you can't blame me to become tired and bored of doing the same thing over and over again. I really wish to find a job so that at least I could do other things other than being simply a mother and a wife.

I feel the same as you but I have to do them anyway. Otherwise, I will have to use these dirty stuffs day after day! Try to think in another way. Like, when you see your family wearing the clothes that you washed to work, looking smart, then you will feel better about the tasks. If you do not live with any family members, you can think in this way. The boring housework/repetitive tasks can help you to keep fit! Furthermore, if there is none of these boring repetitive tasks, there won't be any thing you will find interesting in the World as you have nothing to compare these thins with! Feel better about doing these tasks now?

it has been a year since i graduated from college and is currently not successful in finding a suitable job that fits my credentials.it also has been a year that i'm. stuck up in the confines of our home, doing things repetitively and not seeing new things as having no money stops me from frolicking. As boring and as repetitive my life is I can say that i dont really get bored and tired from my everyday living.I just get bored when i think of my everyday routine but when i dont let myself bothered with that thought i am not in the least tired of it.i guess the company of my mom and my siblings hinders m from being bored.

We all get tired of doing the same repetitive work day in and day out and that’s why we all need vacations. Even if we are lucky enough to have people do our work or can afford machines instead, its still the same boring routine every day. Vacations are the time when we can afford to break the routine and do exactly what we feel like and when…

Apparently, these repetitive tasks become some kind of ritual. And I just learned that rituals have a purpose, it is these rituals that somehow give structure to our lives.
When used properly, rituals have the power to calm the mind. This is attributed to the rhythm it provides the individual. Without rituals, we lead a life that is chaotic because it lacks a steady relaxing rhythm.
Hmm. That reminds me. From now on, I need to somehow manage my time online. I need to establish rituals in order to prevent unbridled online activities from consuming my precious time.

As a full-time-mom, I also do routinary tasks everyday. I have a schedule from morning until evening that sometimes I get saturated already with my routines. But at least I have a baby that makes me happy everyday and also internet helps ease my boredome. Even if I have routinary jobs in the house, internet can make some changes in my life a bit. So we just have to live with our everyday routines and enjoy it everyday. But I am still also trying to do some outdoor activities to avoid boredome.

Sometimes. "This too shall Pass." If you are cleaning and
washing for a family it can become boring and tiring. I say delegate
the work.
Moreover, if you live by yourself, it not so bad. You can clean when
you want, and you do not have all of the mess, unless you make a mess.
Another idea, is to enjoy life. Leave the work for a day. Go out for
the day, or if you have a family, then take the kids out. Then start
again the next day.
Just think of the times when women had to wash down by the river.
Or, what about those old washing machines where you had to put
the clothes through the ringer! lol

yes...routine activities can get so boring at times..that's why it's recommended that we take a break from our routine every once in a while... sometimes i feel so unproductive when i'm at home despite the tasks that i've completed..doing the same thing over and over again..is exhausting.. going out with friends can help lessen the boredom...

musta been nice back in the days when you had OTHER people doing that stuff
in the Society of Creative Anachronisms... (SCA) they like to emulate the middle ages
I told them that the people they are wanting to be like couldn't have existed without slavery - they always try to tell me "serfs" weren't slaves, well, they didn't have permission to leave their master's lands unless he gave it, so what does that make them?
anyway, I tell them that they wouldn't have time to play at that stuff if they didn't still have slaves - granted, they are mechanical slaves that don't care if they do the same things over and over - are, in fact, designed to do just that - but still a form that if you had to do everything by hand like then, you'd spend all your time doing it and not have time for leisurely playing at the middle ages...

I know the feeling too. It does get irritating, the same things day in and day out. Even with my kids here with me, it's the same routine every day. Were on a set routine every day, which is easier for them and helps them be happier but it drives me nutty.
I guess I would rather boring than drama or hardships though. I could live without those things, hehe.

I often feel in this endless loop of cooking, eating, cleaning dishes. It is just crazy. I have a home daycare so I serve the kids breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. And then I still have to make dinner for my family. I feel like I spend most of day in the kitchen or the bathroom. Because 5 young kids equals lots of trips to the bathroom. It makes me crazy sometimes. And if I am not doing those two thinks it seems like I am taking out the trash again. But when the weekend comes and I am running around doing all the things I can't do durning the week I am ready to get back to the borring stuff by monday and almost welcome it until about Thursday. But I guess it has to get done so somebody has to do it and in our house I am the somebody.

I feel good doing that. The most important thing for me is my own place to be clean. And everything to be on it's place, ready for using again. When i'm lazy and i stay todays work for tomorrow, i'm getting mad at myself, because next day i have to make that things in double size. :)
When i was little, i was wondering why people say: don't wait until tomorrow to finish things what you have started today. Now i know :)
Sometimes it's annoying, but after one coffee, i feel relaxed and ready to do everything what i have to.
