My two roommates have a five year old daughter, during the day she usually watches sponge bob square pants, icarly, and hannah montana. I usually find something to do when sponge bob and hannah are on, but the show I will sit down to watch and spend time with her is icarly. Does anyone else like kids shows they watch with their children, nieces or kids they babysit?

Hi, Sadie
I do not have kids yet but I watch Spongebob Squarepants and several others like Jimmy Neutron and Doraemon. sometimes, when my two-year-old nephew is watching Barney, I get hooked for several minutes too.
Have a nice day!

Jimmy Neutron is a funny and entertaining show! I wish my niece would enjoy it but I can't seem to get her into it!
Happy mylotting!

Watching a show with your kid(s) is a great way to get into something your kids like and share a goofy laugh about something that happened in the show. Kids want to know that grown-ups like what they like because it makes them feel important. Now some shows get on my nerves so I'll elect to watch the ones that are somewhat entertaining to me. Parent should watch what their kids watch to monitor the content and themes. I make sure that I have a 'favorite' show for each of my children. They really enjoy it. I know I would have if one of my parents had done that for me.

Same here, my parents didn't really watch TV shows with me and my brother. Even though she is my niece and I care about what she watches- I leave those decisions to her mother, most of the time we both watch with her and I follow her mother's request about what her daughter watches.

I don't have kids and I am still hooked on the kids shows.. I like the Disney shows. Hannah Montana, Jonas Bros, Wizards of Waverly place.. and the Suite Life/Zach and Cody. I have been watching these for years.. LOL No Kids needed.
I love a few cartoons too. My favorite was Animaniacs and Mutant Ninja Turtles were pretty good too. Oh, and Gargoyles.. I miss that cartoon. I loved it because all my Star Trek TNG actors were the voices of the Gargoyles and other characters. :-)

Gargoyles was a great cartoon! Makes me look at the difference between cartoons now and from the past. I turned it to Tom and Jerry one day and my niece just looked at me like I was crazy! I wish I could get cartoons like MNT, Gargoyles and Animaniacs on DVD, just now sure where to look to get a good price on them.

I watch some kids shows by myself of my own free will. SHH!!! I like some of the old superhero cartoons and I really really love "Avatar: The Last Airbender". I think really good entertainment is good for any age regardless of what it's first market was.
But I gag at Sponge Bob. I can't stand him.

I'm with you on the Sponge Bob!! It's annoying and his voice grates at my ears. The Last Airbender is awesome! I haven't seen the movie yet simply because i love the cartoon so much. Your right about entertainment- it can be good for any age limit!

The movie isn't too great. Most of the fans 10 and under don't have a problem with it, but the consensus with the older fans is that it was extremely disappointing. In any case, the show is spectacular! My whole family loves it and none of us are kids!

hi sadie!
i always watch kids shows since i stayed with my sister and her kids.can't help on that matter.they are three of them, no point of arguing which channel to watch, so i just get along with them.most are the cartoon shows.sometimes they keep repeating the same series till i can remember their lines vividly.hehe...

I love cartoons, pure and simple. Majority of what I enjoy is considered "for kids". Cartoons have what I want from television, which is to have me forgetting reality for awhile. I've got enough adult responsibilities in reality, why does my TV have to be an adult too?
