I am a Filipino. And I am proud whenever I see fellow Filipinos excel in their God given talents and being recognize all over the world. Like with Lea Salonga, Rob Schneider, Tia Carrere, Lou Diamond Philips, and Manny Pacquiao. And now the most promising Charisse Pempengco. Really, I admire her powerful voice. And I won't wonder why Ellen was so mesmerized with her and so is Ophra. I mean, you can't see a small girl with a huge and powerful voice everyday, right? But what annoys me is how the media over sensationalize everything about her. The last news I've heard was she did a botox job care of Dr. Vicky Belo, this is for her role for the glee. Okey, nowadays visiting a cosmetic surgeon and your a celebrity is a taboo, but is it necessary to televise it just because you're going to appear on Glee.. To Charisse's fans, I am sorry.. I'm just making my point. Happy Mylotting Everyone!! :D

I am also proud of her but sometimes I think Filipinos should also appreciate our culture even if the world does not necessarily recognize it. I think it is overrated too and don't get me wrong, I am really proud of Charice but we hype all that she has achieved into something bigger than it really is. It is not like she has won an Oscar people, she is only appearing in a TV show, an appearance that has not been recognized by the Emmy's. I am proud of her getting the audition but come on, it is still just a TV show.

Exactly my point! To be proud is enough, but to sensationalize everything is too much.. Appearance doesn't mean she's regular cast of the said show, right? Plus we're putting too much pressure on her, we all know she's a good singer, but how about her acting abilities? that might not pass the Hollywood standard, we might just embarrassed.

Well, you know how gossip works in the Philippines. They will talk about anyone doing anything at all. Since it's Charice's first involvement with cosmetic surgery, it's bound to be sensationalized. Anyone who gets cosmetic surgery seems to be noticed. Plus, we can't get enough of Pinoys who make it internationally. So I guess she's an easy target for gossip news. People want to report everything she does. What I'm waiting for is to watch her actual appearance on glee. She's s good singer but I don't know if she can act that well. We'll have to find out, I guess. I bet you that will be another sensationalized story. =)

Like I can't agree to you more! Maybe I'm still not used to showbiz in the Philippines. Oh! And I have seen how Charisse's acts in one of ABS-CBN's drama shows. And I say not that bad, I'm just not sure what if in English. But I think she can make it through..

i totally agree with you sexyposh.. she had that voice but I don't think she'll fit into that kind of genre.. she's just good in singing and not acting,.. but well, who knows? Charice might surprise us on September.. Anyhow, I'm still looking forward for Glee's season 2.. Not that because Charice is there, it's because i'm a GLEEK!

Yes, me too.. I just can't wait for the second season of Glee.. To their songs they're going to sing and their stories. And about Charice, is it really sure that she will be part of he cast, or just a guest appearance?

Hi i'm a Filipina, but i'm not a fan of Charice... i'm sorry. sure she's talented but i don't not that too talented. she's too young to have a botox job, i didn't know why she had one and if she really needed one.

Hayyyy the curse of the celebrity.. They are the ones who are the most insecure about their bodies. Same here, I also don't get it why she need to undergo that procedure, when she only need act and sing in the series...
