Yup I guess you've got a point there. Let them soar high. But would they still be interested knowing that sooner or later the administration of PAL can just remove them? For now that will be an option but I pity the pilots. They will still be in the loosing end.

The only think holding them back is their contract with PAL. I wouldn't sign that contract if it binds me to the company and it would conflict my interest of growing and flourishing as a pilot. They should take that talk that PAL is offering them, maybe they'll be given fair compensation from this point on.

The problem sizzled a few months back. The pilots did wait but were not given better options. Thus the inevitable resignation.

Well, if we look at their situation, it is actually better to work abroad than in PAL because they have better opportunities. It is PAL's fault for not maintaining their employees. Also the stewardesses are also having some problems.

The pilots resigned en masse. Tourism will definitely be affected. Who would ride PAL knowing the pilots manning the cockpits are second best? The stewards were not given fair contracts, too. Labor law must be reviewed.

The pilots must have such an intense reason to choose the consequences of a breach of contract than to linger longer with PAL. Let us wait and see if the talks would change the course of action of the pilots.

The 3 airlines that are a part of PAL, right?, have been experiencing some labor unrest for some time. It is sad that the timing of this "crisis?" is a serious challenge for the President when he is facing so many others.
I will have to read up and talk to some ppl on the situation to be able to comment.
thanks for sharing,
Eric

Pilots must soar high! But tourism and economy in our country will be crippled when some flight schedules be cancelled or delayed.

That is an effect that we do not want to happen. Resolution is necessary asap.
