I read the Bible almost everyday, I also read books of various kind written by many different authors, watch movies, listen to songs of different genre, listens to tapes, etc. This has become part and partial of my life and existence now. A couple years behind I came to a realization that all this reading, watching and listening has impact on my external disposition of my individuality which is a reflection of the internal change all these listening, reading and watching has brought within. I also find that sometime I don't necessarily live my life to the fullest in that I tried living others people lives consciously or unconsciously. But when I am not careful I could be living Socrates' life and in the process may lost my sense of individuality or unique identity! Do you think it is wise to do this? If yes, why? If no, why?

Hi bekosfc, There is nothing wrong with reading but you are a unique invividual and must be yourself, not the person you are reading about. I know people who have went insane from reading the Bible and taking it literally. Read everything with an open mind and you can learn from the best of it and discard that which can only do harm. Blessings.

Well, thanks for your comment and word of encouragement Pose. I am of the same view as you have expressed! But I don't find it to be such easy exercise to to be me at all time though I know I need to be me. I think everyone struggle with this if I may say so. A famous personality in the Bible by the name called St. Paul also wrestled with the same issue if I'm not mistaken! I believe it's a lifelong struggle. The issue underneath is much deeper than one may realized! It's good to be back in mylot! Have been away for quite a long time.
