I hate it when watching a movie with family and there is a hot scene.

I dont know whether it happened with you ever or not, but this thing irritates me a lot. So many times when i am watching some movie with my younger bro or parents sometimes, some hot scene comes and I feel really embarrassed due to it. At that time everything gives you a feeling of embarrassment. And even it feels awkward to just change the channel or switch off the TV at that time. You just left helpless. And i really hate it. So now as a precaution I only watch those movies with family that i have already seen and about which I am sure that no such scene will come. And if there is some new movie, I watch it alone first. So have you ever experience this kind of situation?

Here is what always worked for me when the unexpected scene would come on I would act naturally and get up and walk away then I would come back and say I am not really interested in this movie after all and persuade everyone to view something else. I tried as hard as I could not to make it obvious to every one that the scene was making me embarrassed as the more obvious it became the more embarrassing it was. So I was always able to do this and it worked out fine. Let us face it these days movies all have something hot in their scenes a for some reason they feel it would interest the public.

Hehehhe, this also works for me. But the problem with me, I easily freeze when watching a movie with hot scenes if my family members are there also, I felt super embarrass and would not know what to do, so instead, I just freeze in my chair and could not move and perspire a lot.hahaha

I believe they have to be feeling the same as you all, as it is a natural response.

i experienced the same thing... when we randomly watched movies at home and suddenly the hot scene pops along and my younger siblings are there..there's no need for me to press fast forward or transfer the channel because my younger siblings were taught not to watch those parts..and they will just automatically and voluntarily cover their eyes...very cute...! and they never cheat or take a peek... they would even say yuck!!! they know it's for adult only... nice!!!

lol.. well, Kidz covering their eyes when a hot scene comes, sounds really cute. But it means that they do understand it when there is a hot scene. But I'm not really sure whether its a right way to tell kids about it. There may be so many queries in their minds and I guess we should answer them all in a good way so that they dont take this all in a negetive way. Well yes such scenes when siblings or parents are around and watching too, really create an awkward situation for everyone. thanks for your response anyways. take care :)

My siblings and I were like these when we were young. We still do when our parents are around. It's just embarassing. Hot scenes are for bedrooms only, not for something in public, that's why we feel embarassed. Also since we grew up in a Catholic family, it's really something for everyone to be embarassed for when in public

We are the same. it feels awkward that you are watching a sexy scene and you are with your family. Whenever I know a film and we are all watching it, I know a certain scene if there is a hot or sexy scene there. Whenever the scene is near, i go away from watching. I either get something from the kitchen or will get something from my bedroom. I will come back if I am sure that that scene is already through. However, there are some movies that I do not know and just watching for the first time with my family, if that is the case the awkward feeling is there and I will be in shock. I hate having an awkward feeling.

Hehe.. well i have done something like this also. if i know that a hot scene is gonna come, I either leave the room giving some excuses or I change the channel complaining that movie is such a bore and i am not interested. Thanks for your response anyways. Take care :)

Oh lol.. even i have some worst memories of watching the movie titanic at home. i was with my elder sis and younger bro when I watched it. Actually i suggested them to watch it as I have heard so much praise of this movie. Everything was going good, movie was awesome ..until and unless... that scene arrived..... :( after that everyone was really nervous and I changed the channel instantly, but there left a feeling of awkwardness among all of us and I regretted suggesting them to watch it. Well then i only changed the channel to titanic again, when the ship was gonna sink and felt a bit comfortable that movies is gonna end very soon..hehehe. So it makes me really nervous when such situation comes. anyways thanks for your response. take care :)

lolz.. well yes that is the environment when such a condition arrives and everyone try to convince everyone else that they are least interested and dont really care about it but actually its other way round. lolz Thanks for your response. take care :)

i really agree with that. when i am watching a movie with my family members, i feel very nervous when a hot scene is going on. therefore what i doing is going away from the place. therefore after that i am not watching the movies with the family members if i not sure about the movie. and i couldn't enjoy the movie because i am always thinking about the next scene. whether it will be a one we can watch or not. therefore it reduces the entertainment. i think it's better to watch the movies alone so that it will not be happend.

Well yes that is a kind of solution to avoid such a condition. But at times when such scene suddenly pop ups it feels awkward even to move away at that time. So just watching the movie about which you're sure enough is the best solution to avoid it according to me. thanks anyways for your response. have a nice day . take care :)

Yes!! That's what I usually feel when I watch movies with the family last time... My parents are not open minded, so that's the reason I feel that way.(Now I don't live with my family anymore and I barely watch any movies with them) I hate it when they have the hot and steamy scenes and it's like you don't know what to do at all, you're just stuck there watching, sometimes I feel like I'm paralyzed when my parents are there.. It's just so very awkward!!! I love that you used the word helpless. I really felt helpless during those times.. I couldn't move..

Well yes helpless is the word that is appropriate in such situations. I too kinda get paralyzed and nothing seem a better idea than to pretend that you're not watching or dont really care about whats on the Tv (although you care about it more than anything on earth at that time)..lolz Anyways thanks for your response. take care :)

It can be embarrassing when family members come in to the room while the hottest scene of a movie comes on. You don't knoe whether you keep waatching the movie or look away. You caan feel others watching you watch the movie. It can be a little disturbing. I just hold my breath, watch the movie and try to forget anyone else is there.

Lol.. well yes this is another misery of watching a movie. Sometimes it does happens that someone catches you watching a movie only when the hottest scene is on, no matter you have no such intentions of watching them. It gives a feeling of shame that what would that person think. Really embarrassing. thanks for your response though. take care :)

I can totally relate as I have three young sons and it's hard to watch a movie if a hot scene comes up. I usually hit the forward button and skip the parts, when we're watching with our kids. But it's not really such an issue as when I was growing up with my grandparents and that happened. AWKWARD.

Oh yes , when kids are around and some such scene is on screen, this situation is not good for kids. So its always better to tell kids not to watch everything coming on Tv that elders are watching. There are Cartoon programs for them. Anyways thanks for your response!! take care :)

If you are old enough to watch the movie, your parents should not make you feel uncomfortable watching it with you. After all you were born from something far steamier than what is on screen. If you are still uncomfortable, it isn't the movie/hot scene but your family situation/lack of communication and openness. If you aren't old enough, why are your parents giving you permission if you can't feel comfortable with the subject? That IS the whole point of the rating system after all. Parents give permission when they feel you are mature enough which means they believe you are mature enough to handle it and therefore you have no reason to feel embarrassed. If you still do then you aren't mature enough and you should stay away from movies you aren't mature enough to watch. Tell your parents that you aren't ready for such movies. COMMUNICATE.

Lol..!! very true. Pretending to be expressionless is a good escape i guess ;) Moving out of the room or just changing the channel or switching off the Tv can make you feel more awkward. Good that you learned some lessons from it ;) Anyways thanks for your response. take care :)

Hahahaha. I totally get what you are saying, it just feels so uncomfortable, and you don't know whether you would change the channel or just leave it there.. I feel like closing my eyes, or just getting out of the room and just go back when the scene is back to normal again. Hahahaha.

Yes, I feel that awkardness too, it's like I can't move and I am hoping that the scene will just end sooner because I dont know what to react. I dont know If I have to concentrate or look away or pretend like I dont care. Anyways what I do is I make a joke and move away and just go back when it's finished. Ewwww...

Hi Smilepleeeaz!. I really know what your mean!. When I watch movie in DVD with my family especially when hot scene appear honest I am a little embarrassed. Luckily we usually not watch it to often because we are little busy with our own business. In television there is strict censor about this scenes so its relatively safe to watch with your family. We are lucky we don't have kids at home because we fully grown up now and fully aware of act consequence.

My family doesn't really make a big deal out of it, at least as far as I can tell. If a hot scene comes along, we just keep watching as if were any other part of the movie. I think it's because we feel that if we make a big deal out of it, the younger children will be more eager to find out what it's about.

This is comman situation with all. Every one would feel the same when such kind fo scene comes and you are watching it with your family. But the way you feel is your feeling not your parents feeling it means your parents or younger one would not feel that it is because of you. At that movement wat you feel might be the feeling of every one who is watching that movie. and it would be embarrassment for anyone to move out or change the channel. the only thing that can be done is to behave normal as this kind of scene is normal and as the generation grows they came to know more early then they would come to know in future
