Do you take Lithium or know someone who does take this drug now or in the past?

Lithium is a soft metal that is actually a poison and it is still used for bipolar, manic depression and behaviorial problems. I had to take this drug in high school after blacking out after breaking another student's jaw. I have just recently been put back on this drug after over 20 years after the death's of my oldest brother and my only sister this year just 10 months apart. They both died of Cancer. What are your oppinions on Lithium? I take 300 mg of lithium carb 300 two times a day. Do you feel it is just another drug like ridilin or is this old form something even worse?
