how do i find worms?

hey im about to go fishing, but i currently have no bait. my friends are digging in the backyard but no luck really. are there tricks to finding worms? or other similar bugs.

When I was a kid we would go fishing all the time. The night before we planned to go we would soak the yard very well with the hose and then when the sun went down we would all go out into the yard with flashlights and grab the nightcrawlers that would come out. It was easy and we would get tons of worms that way. We also used grasshoppers as bait when we could not get worms. I hope you have a great time fishing. Good luck getting the worms.

so it is easier to find them at night time? how about after it rains?

If it rains alot you can usually walk down the street and find them. Where I live when it rains they come out in droves. I think they are looking for a place to get away from the water that seeps down. Any way finding them at night is easier when you don't have rain.
