Has anyone tried to study online in some known universities/school like KAPLAN?

I'm planning to save money to take some short online courses? I want to collate information on how does online school work like KAPLAN and university of PHOENIX. I want to take another IT course, but Im wondering if its all THEORY type of modules w/o any programming samples. Can anybody share their experience with these type of schools?

I cannot share direct experience with online schooling but do know many acquaintances that have. One thing I can recommend that you do a lot of research prior to joining and find out what their post graduate employment rate is like as I know many that were given false promises.
I can also tell you that if you have never studied via online that you seriously consider the amount of discipline you can devote to it as you are very much on your own. To juggle life because of the convenience of studying online can be quite challenging.
